In the summer of 1999, Valorie had an epiphany that confirmed her life purpose to inspire women to live more fulfilling lives. She was on a career path that looked successful but was unfulfilling, and despite her fears, Valorie took a leap of faith to pursue her dreams. The transformation has led her to write eight books, including Successful Women Think Differently, What's Really Holding You Back?, and Your 5-Minute Personal Coach.
Valorie helps readers and leaders discover their purpose and create a vision that's true to who they are. She helps people persevere until they reach their goals, even in the face of challenges, fears, and doubts. Her expertise shows how to coach yourself by saying "yes" to what matters and "no" more often. The result? People find the freedom to live the life they previously only imagined.
Valorie's transparency and blend of personal stories, faith, and psychological research is engaging and practical. She is a columnist for Ebony Magazine and a frequent media contributor who has appeared in and on CNN, HLN, Dr. Oz, Oprah Magazine, Oprah Radio, The 700 Club, Essence, The Los Angeles Times, and many more. She has co-hosted two national television programs - The Potter's Touch with T.D. Jakes and Aspiring Women, winning two regional Emmy nominations. She has a master's degree in applied positive psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, a master's degree in journalism from Florida A&M University and a BA from Florida State University.
