About the Author

Originally from Scotland, Professor Fred Watson is now a leading astronomer based at the Anglo-Australian Observatory in Coonabarabran and has his own popular weekly programme on Australia's ABC radio. In 2003, Fred received the David Allen Prize for communicating astronomy to the public, and in 2006 he won the Australian Government Eureka Prize for Promoting Understanding of Science.
