Book Description

1574610058 978-1574610055 August 1995 9th
Why We Live After Death is one of those rare books that encapsulates deep and far-ranging ideas with an articulate and engaging style. Austrian-born Richard Steinpach was an attorney by profession; a seeker-after-truth by inclination and temperament. From 1979 until shortly before his death in 1992, Dr. Steinpach delivered hundreds of lectures throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

This book is the text of one of those lectures, translated from the German under the auspices of the international Grail Foundation. Dr. Steinpach begins with the work of modern thanatologists, whose researches have resulted in the documentation of numerous "near-death" experiences: all of which bear a remarkable similarity to one another, despite the varied backgrounds of respondents or the differing theories of researchers.

From there, Dr. Steinpach steps out into the unexplored dimensions, applying Natural Law to eternal questions, to show how we continue to develop after death. Basing his conclusions on the spiritual classic, In the Light of Truth: The Grail Message, by Abd-ru-shin, Dr. Steinpach discusses three levels of our being--the material body, the astral body, and the ethereal body or "soul," showing how they interact in life-and how they separate in death.

This wise and inspiring book is a joy to read, with a translation that does justice to the text, rendering from German into English with a grace and clarity that makes the conclusion resonate with all that has gone before:

"I hope I have succeeded in opening your eyes at least to a very small but extremely important section of the vitality of this Creation, and, at the same time, also to the vastness of our existence. Although we began with death we end with life, but with, I hope, a more conscious life."

Editorial Reviews

Review

Why We Live After Death is a small book with a big message; the author has added value to understanding the experience of death, a subject long denied and little understood. Steinpach's explanations are consistent with the prevailing ecumenical thought on spirituality and the essence of the soul. He challenges the reader to expand preconceived ideas about religion and spirituality, and to allow understanding to establish firmer foundations in our lives and in our world. -- Karol Ann Barnett, Fate Magazine, February, 1996

From the Publisher

Why We Live After Death accomplishes what no other book on life after death does: Steinpach takes the basic Laws of Nature and applies them to the ethereal realm. By doing so, he demystifies the world beyond, and opens the door to a fuller understanding of the totality of our existence. Why We Live After Death makes it possible for readers to answer the eternal question, "What is the meaning of life?"

5.0 out of 5 stars Logical explanations make conviction about LAD possible!, January 5, 1996
By A Customer
This review is from: Why We Live After Death (Paperback)
People are no longer afraid to admit they've had a near- death experience or they've encountered an angel or they've experienced the "presence" of a loved one who has passed on. But how is it possible and what does it mean? This little book (under 100 pages) has a BIG message. Steinpach expands the understanding of the dying process and life in the beyond to such a magnitude that you feel you've been to other worlds and back by the time you reach the end of the book. The explanations given are based on scientifically recognized, irrufutable Laws which Steinpach applies to the inner life of the human being. Ironically though the book is supposed to be about death and the dying process, you end up learning about life and living. Perhaps most importantly Steinpach's explanations offer the kind of knowledge that conviction is built on. For those who can absorb this timeless wisdom sincerely and openly, they need never again fear death.

5.0 out of 5 stars The clearest explanation of life after death I've ever read., January 6, 1996
By A Customer
This review is from: Why We Live After Death (Paperback)
This book is a little gem. While most books on life after death merely recount the phenomena of near-death experiences, Dr. Steinpach explains exactly what happens to our spirits during the dying process and after physical death. Basing his explanations on the Laws of Nature, universally held by science, he paints a compelling and logical picture of the journey taken by the human spirit. Steinpach also decribes what we can do now, in this life, to most successfully make the journey to "the other side." Ostensibly about death and the beyond, in a larger context this work is really a celebration of how best to live one's life now.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is for everyone since we all die sometime., February 9, 1996
By A Customer
This review is from: Why We Live After Death (Paperback)
I heard physicist Dr. Friedbert Karger (a colleague of Steinpach's) talk this past fall at Battelle Research Institute. His lecture "What Can a Physicist Say About Life After Death?" quoted heavily from Steinpach's book. Never before have I heard the spiritual view of the dying process and life in the beyond, explained in such logical terms. Karger (apparently a spokesperson for the deceased author) showed how the Laws of Science are in principle the same as Universal Spiritual "Laws of Creation." If you've ever wondered "what happens to me when my physical body dies? Do I feel anything? Where do I go when my body leaves this earth?", then this book is for you. The real value in the book is how it can impact your life now since essentially it is more about living than dying
