A Feast for the Soul,
By Marilyn Gibson (Teaneck, NJ United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Why the Weight? Dare To Be Great! (Paperback)
Filled with inspirational tips and pointers, Why The Weight--Dare to be Great! is a feast for the soul. For anyone who has tried to lose weight (and that includes just about everyone), you will be guaranteed success by reading this book. From the occasional tip, such as 'Eat asparagus and cantaloupe the day before your weigh-in---they are natural diuretics' to 'Buy a dog--they are exercise machines with hair', you will laugh, be informed and delighted, and inspired to get into action and over to your local weight-loss organization to see those pounds melt off. As a moderately-successful weight-loss person (I've lost 36 pounds so far), I picked up Jean Krueger's book for a boost. I've been on a plateau lately and was considering going downstairs for a tiny slice of left-over pumpkin pie from Thanksgiving. Those last ten pounds have been eluding me. After reading Jean's book, I now realize that I've been guilty of the nibble syndrome--eating without recording---and I can easily skip that pie. I am certain that her tips will bring me back to the final weight-loss goal that I've been craving. This book is for everyone---those beginning their weight-loss journey, those thinking about starting, and the intermediates like myself who haven't quite reached their goals. In addition, it's an inspirational shot in the arm. Jean uses authors Don Miguel Ruiz, Stephen Covey, Harvey MacKay and Dr. Wayne Dyer, as well as her own stories and advice to uplift. In addition, she is a fountain of knowledge on every food and its qualities. This book is a must for anyone who wants to be spurred to positive action. It is a workbook in which you ask yourself Universal questions, such as WHO would I like to become? WHERE would I like to go? and similar searching questions which will create the new, goal-directed you. You are given practical instructions to get going on the behavior modification that will lead to success. It is a book to be read over and over again, to be savored and enjoyed. Marilyn Gibson,...

Jean Kreuger changing the world,
By Dominick G. (Fountain Valley,CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Why the Weight? Dare To Be Great! (Paperback)
I was expecting yet another diet book. I was delighted to find that this is not just another Diet Book. Jean Krueger writes not only of Nutrition, exorcise and helpful hints like so many have done before... but she does it with a personality, charm and sense of humor that will have you enchanted from the beginningJean Kreuger dives in where only a handful of authors have dipped their toes. Soon you will be swimming along with her through the normally dry subject of the psyche. As she takes you along with what I will describe as a "What makes you tick" approach and a positive attitude and honesty that is refreshing. You will gain an insight into the roots of weight control problems. You will gain an insight into yourself as well. Jean Kreuger has a warmth and energy that seems to pour off of each page that is very rare indeed. You will close this book to become the better person you are inside. You will also open this book again and again for there are hints, knowledge, experience, values and much more that you can apply throughout your everyday life. That is how Jean Kreuger is making this world better... one person at a time.

This review is from: Why the Weight? Dare To Be Great! (Paperback)
I LOVE THIS BOOK! I thought i couldnt read anything knew from a weightloss book again, untill Jeans book. I have struggled with my weight all my life, but not anymore. Thanks to Jean her advice and book im down 40 lbs. Her book taught me skills for eating well for weightless, weight control, health, and contentment with food. Jean taught me I can still eat what i want but within reason, get my 10,000 steps in everyday, lots of water, and we eat everyday so we need to exercise everyday! Not only is this book awsome and helpful but its allmost like Jean is reading it to you, right next to you. Jean is sincere and has lived through so much in her life and has come so far. She was fat and understands how it is, she is skinny now and telling us how to be also,if she can do it,WE all can do it,so read on...Love Ya Jean,THANK YOU.

This is the best book on weight loss!,
By Avid Investor "Ron Rathi" (Pittsburgh, PA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Why the Weight? Dare To Be Great! (Paperback)
What makes Jean Krueger's book stand out from other weight loss books? She has her own compelling story--a story about how sad events in her life lead her to overeat. Almost everyone can identify overeating with filling a "hole in your heart," and I found this story very engaging. Jean gives practical tips on how to keep the pounds off, including keeping your shirt tucked in or eating in the nude! I've kept one for myself and bought some for Christmas gifts.

No More Weight,
By Lindy Burke (CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Why the Weight? Dare To Be Great! (Paperback)
This is the book! The book that finaly gets the weight off and keeps it off. Jean is personal, encouraging and honest. She shares the pain that fat couldn't hide and what it took for her to turn her life around. This book is full of wisdom, humor as well as practical "How to tips". The vegetable soup alone is worth the price of the book. I am very excited about this book and I have shared it with my thin as well as not so thin friends, because Jean has a message for everyone.

Success is right around the corner!,

This review is from: Why the Weight? Dare To Be Great! (Paperback)
Jean is awesome in giving encouragement, inspiration and motivation, along with education so that you will be successful in losing weight. Her writing style is like you were sitting down with her over a cup of tea--herbal, of course--and getting a boost of information and encouragement to succeed. Plus, she includes humor and is vulnerable and honest about the pitfalls she experienced and what she did about them. You're gonna love it!

Saved my Life!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Why the Weight? Dare To Be Great! (Paperback)
This powerful book changed and saved my life. For years, my excess weight stopped me from achieving my ultimate success. I struggled constantly with diets and the scale. Yet my high blood pressure and cholesterol counts were skyrocketing. My self-esteem had bottomed out. I was missing out on life. Then I read Jean's secrets. I discovered the following: . Why do we gain weight? . What are the Diet Mistakes? . How can we use THE FOUR AGREEMENTS to shed pounds? . How can we release weight on hips, hearts and shoulders? . What are the 51 "Magical" Negative-Calorie Foods? . What is OUR DEEPEST FEAR? . How can we tell ourselves: "I can do it!" AND THEN DO IT? This book alerted me to the shocking statistics of how weight has become an epidemic. Two out of every three people are overweight. The second leading cause of death is due to weight-related causes. 44% of health-care costs go to weight-related problems. It doesn't have to be that way, however. If you are overweight, and you are ready to make changes to live the life you truly want, you MUST read Jean's book. It may CHANGE your life and possibly SAVE YOUR life, as well.

This is a wonderful and inspiring book for someone trying to lose a few pounds or many pounds. Jean Krueger's story is inspirational and encouraging and has helped me focus on the goals I have set to lose weight and get fit. She gives practical advice that is easy to apply to your daily life and actually works. A Must-Have Book for the Healthy Eater!,
By
This review is from: Why the Weight? Dare To Be Great! (Paperback)
I love this book! It has been a true resource through the Holidays. So many times we join programs/ go on diets and are told what to eat/ what not to eat. We can recite calories/ fat, etc. but we are never told why certain foods should be eaten. Jean tells us WHY to eat carrots, asparagus, etc. It is not just for the dieter, but for anyone who cares about their physical and mental health. The fact that it's a small very easy-to-read book also helps, as you will read the book over and over again. Thanks Jean for the great book.
