Why is this a Tom Clancy Book?

It seams that all these so called high priced Tom Clancy are now written by other authors. I wonder does he come up with the stories. In this case Mark Greaney wrote the novel (I imagine). I was a avid reader of Tom Clancy novels, but once other names started showing up on the books the writing style changed.

I get the impression (wrong or not). That Tom Clancy's name is just being used to sell books at higher prices than they would command without his name. Every time #1 New York Times best seller. Tom..... with another author below.

Anyway just curious what others think about this.

I haven't noticed the other author on the cover. I was just genuinely happy about a new episode of the Ryan saga. After reading few paragraph from the Prologue I knew there is something wrong going on. The style is just bad. And it makes me sad. Really.
I am now few pages into the first chapter and it is really disturbing. I will read the book till the end because I am curious, but the bad taste in my mouth (and mind) seems to remain.

John........you have hit it out of ball park with your observation. That's what is occurring and it's shame we have Clancy's name but not his writing.
To those who comment that Clancy is mentoring the co-author I say I have a bridge I would like to sell them. For what ever reason we have lost a great writer and gained a swindle scheme.
