I'm wondering why I had to sit through 4 GB of download for Civ V and when I go to activate it on Stream it wants me to download it all over again? I notice in the download folder I have some disk_1.sim , .sid, and .sis files and I'm burning them to a CD as I type this. Was the initial download I purchased on Amazon 4 GB of Stream or can I manually download this thing somehow.

i doubt you will be able to install it from a disk. likely what has happened is that amazon's version that you download was out of date, so the download you are doing in steam is for all the updates. alot of the game has been updated since its release to incorporate more features from steam.

or it could be like homefront. when it was released on dvd, it would install half of the game from the disc, and download the remaining from steam.
