5.0 out of 5 stars Cell Phone Repeater System, August 27, 2009
This review is from: Wi-Ex zBoost YX 029-PCS/CEL Dual-band outdoor antenna for YX510 system (Electronics)
I was able to make living in the country tolerable with this system. I had 2 bars of signal on the North outside of my home, but no where else. I now have between 2 and 5 bars in my home and can use wireless cell phone as my internet provider. We have no cable or DSL available. The antenna is not powered, but does need to be directed toward the cell phone tower. I have it mounted high on the side of my home with a wire running about 50 feet before entering the house and hooked to the cell phone repeater base unit. I also switched out the omidirectional indoor antenna for the optional unidirectional one which is directed from the far end of the house along the length of the house. The omni directional antenna made the system much more usable 3 rooms away from the base unit.

5.0 out of 5 stars This antenna gave me 1 more bar over the plain booster, September 19, 2009

This review is from: Wi-Ex zBoost YX 029-PCS/CEL Dual-band outdoor antenna for YX510 system (Electronics)
I usually get 1 RX and 0 TX bars on my Verizon cell phone in the house. I can't do much better anywhere in the yard. I installed the booster system and I got 3 RX and 2 TX bars in one room. I decided I wanted as much signal as I could get so I ordered and installed this directional antenna. I now get 4 RX and 3 TX bars so this antenna gave me 1 more bar on both TX and RX over the omnidirectional antenna that is included in the system. For me it's worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Needed Antena, December 28, 2009

This review is from: Wi-Ex zBoost YX 029-PCS/CEL Dual-band outdoor antenna for YX510 system (Electronics)
I bought the zboost prior to buying the antena. I found that I needed the antena. Once I installed the antena with a reflective seperator from the repeater everything is fine and I have use of my verizon android phone again. This is a great fix and fairly inexpensive. The install is not for the novice, however if you have not done things like this in the past search some of the websites and you will be able to figure it out.

5.0 out of 5 stars WI-EX zBoost YX 029-PCS/CEL outdoor antenna, November 9, 2011

I originally bought the cell phone booster that came with the small indoor antenna made for attic mounting. I got very mediocre results. After purchasing this outdoor antenna, I contacted my cellular company for the location of the nearest tower. This antenna is directional, so it must be pointed at the cell phone tower. When set up this way, I got excellent results. It should be noted the repeater will not penetrate metal walls, so a repeater will need to be located in each work area.
