Hi Celina, thanks for your question. If I am understanding your question correctly, if your device is on your home WiFi connection it is only using your LAN (local area network) connection between your WiFi Baby > Device. No internet connection is used when you are at home, WiFi Baby only uses the WiFi signal your router creates. Your data plan on your device would be used when you are not at home and using 3G, 4G, LTE etc. - but if your device is on an external WiFi connection (work, etc.) then you would not be using your data plan. For more info see our WiFi Baby website and contact us through the Support tab on the site.
will i´ll be able to hear my child on my ipad or iphone even if the app is runnning in the background? May 2, 2014
Thanks for your questions and interest in our product. In short, yes. Here's more detail from our site. You can also contact us direct under the PHONE tab on our site. Background Audio: You can use your iOS or Android device for everything its designed to do while still hearing your baby. The iPhone, iPad and Android apps are designed so if you leave the app, you continue to hear audio and they keep your device from going to "sleep." The apps allow full use of your device. Text, email and use other apps while still hearing your child. Auto-Mute: WiFi Baby's microphone eliminates white noise delivering crystal clear audio. You can also set a minimum level (auto-mute) combined with notifications so you only hear what's important: Your Baby. Overrides Auto-Lock: Once the app is opened, it overrides your "auto-lock" setting whether you are in the app or multitasking. Designed for overnight monitoring, your device doesn't go to sleep when you (finally) do. Notifications / Alerts ( iOS feature*) : You can also receive notifications (alerts, banners) based on your preference while using other apps - and now even while on a phone call. Then just return to app for full video and audio. *iPhone, iPad only - alerts, banners not offered in Android app. Access by multiple devices simultaneously: Multiple devices can connect to WiFi Baby 3 at the same time with an authorized username and password on WiFi or data plan (LTE, 4G, 3G, etc.). You also have the option to add additional usernames and passwords for friends, family - and remove at anytime.

Is there a way to setup the cams to record to a 3rd party cloud service? I want off-site recording for security reasons, not just on-site only. Mar 26, 2014
Hi Jeff, in short, no. The camera's internal DVR and MicroSD card slot allows you to set up a weekly schedule to record while you're away and easily play back the footage. WiFi Baby 3 can store up to 32G. You are not uploading your video and audio and recording to a cloud server. Everything is recorded locally to camera itself.
Two kids. Separate rooms. Gotta be two monitors. Can these scan in between the rooms on an Android phone? Mar 17, 2014
Hi Matt, we offer an even better solution than scanning. You get up to 4 cameras on screen with simultaneous video, audio, notifications. You have the option of Picture-in-Picture with 2 cameras or up to 4 in Grid mode. Watch all cameras at the same time, toggle between for a full screen view, or multitask while still hearing audio and notifications for all your WiFi Baby cameras. Pinch to zoom while in landscape mode to get a close, detailed view of your baby. For more detailed info please see our WiFi Baby website for our WiFi Baby 3 product listing or contact us via our SUPPORT tab.

How secure is the remote viewing system? What prevents someone repeatedly trying passwords? Mar 21, 2014
Thanks for your question. Please reach out to us for complete details about security (authentication, encryption)on our WiFi Baby website WIFI BABY > SALES > PHONE & EMAIL. Each camera has its own unique and secure URL for remote viewing. This URL can also be changed to one you prefer with additional options. You also have the option of ONLY using WiFi Baby on your LAN (local area network) and not making it available online at all. In other words only available at home, no internet connection used at all, just the wireless connection your router creates. In addition, WiFi Baby cares about your privacy and recommends (like any device or account online) that you pick a strong password. At a minimum this password should 8 characters in length with 3 out of 4 of the following: Upper case letter Lower case letter Number Special Character ($, %, &, etc.)
Does this come with a separate monitor or will we always need to use one of our own devices, like an iPad or iPhone? Mar 25, 2014
It does not come with a monitor. The beauty of it, is that you can use devices you already have at home.
The camera's lens is designed for night vision and has a range of up to 30 feet. WiFi Baby 3 has a new lens and an IR Cut Filter providing True Color video during the day and low light. The LED lights have a faint, red color but are housed inside the lens to not be seen unless directly in front on the camera and do not add any additional light into the room. These turn on automatically based on light level in the room but can also be turned off manually.
