this is actually a little more quality than expected for the price. I bought the outdoor camera starter kit which works very well in low light conditions, the outdoor camera is actually smaller than it looks in the picture, the power line technology is the main appeal for this system as well as the color viewing. the only downside so far for me is that there is no zoom capabilities on a basic package (no monthly fee). other than that it does what it says and doesn't slow your computer at all. great camera system. i will be adding at least two more cameras to this system very soon.

I've got it setup on a Windows 2008 Standard server, working great. Had to pay for the "platinum" membership to get the functionality I wanted, which irks me, but otherwise it's worked flawlessly.

The WiLife System is no better or worse than anything out there. I have done more than my share of camera work and there is no magic to this one.

The Pros.- Good picture quality. Online support works well.

The Cons.- The electric outlet that you choose to power the camera must be on the same circuit as the computer and USB receiver module. This will only be a problem is you try to put the outdoor camera outdoors as many homes do not have the outdoor electrical circuits tied to anything else in the house. General wiring proctice and codes make outdoor power isolated and GFI protected. So what you have to do is go trial and error through the electric outlets in your house to see which ones play well together. In my house there are 62 outlets. WiLife only works on 6 of them, none outside the house unless I put a computer in the garage with the USB module.
The system will not even find a camera plugged in two rooms away on the same floor indoors.

You can not beat this system for the money. It took a little while to find the perfect outlets to plug the cameras in so they will all work together but, I have a VERY LARGE house with multip-le circuit breker boxes. You may have to install additional outlets to make these all work together. If that is a problem for you then I suggest using only the indoor cameras. You can mount the indoor cameras on a window and have them face outside to be used as a exterior security camera. These window mounts come with each interior camera so there is nothing else to buy. I do recommend purchasing the 120 degree lens for these interior cameras. Makes it all work while and the coverage is great. Wonderful quality and easy to play back your video to see what has happened.
