Beautifully Simplistic,
By MSJ "Midnight Reader" (Down South) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Wiccan Cards (English and Spanish Edition) (Cards)
If you are looking for a beautiful, easy-to-use alternative to the Tarot, the LS Wiccan Cards are a great option. The cards are based on Wiccan thought- anyone who is familiar with Wicca will feel immediately at home. But even for those who have no interest in Wicca whatsoever, the artwork is so friendly and the oracle system of these cards is so straightforward, that using this little oracle deck will be a pleasure. A suggestion for reading: the cards naturally divide themselves into 'spheres of influence' (the elements) that will show which area of your life is most affected, the cards with divinatory meanings, including the 'master cards' for the actual reading itself, and finally timing cards (the sabbats), so working with this deck is easy and intuitive. The cards provide accurate, surprisingly in-depth readings, especially if one is familiar with the layers of meaning ascribed to the symbols used. The cards are *not* traditional Tarot, so please don't expect the full 78-card deck of that system. Otherwise, don't hesitate to get them. They are a great addition to a divination-deck collection.

The Dance of Life,
By Fulgour Prentice (Flora Township) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Wiccan Cards (English and Spanish Edition) (Cards)
The light at the edge of the forest, where the near shadows comfort and the far shadows call, while the Sun still shines beside you as you pause, held by the beckoning closeness of the light dappled bramble and woods. Or the hue of the Moon when seen to rise full at twilight with a beeswax tan, glowing ever more clearly and brightly as the last wisps of dusk blend into night's newly glittering canopy of stars. These are the sensations that come first to mind as I meditate upon the Wiccan Cards by Nada Mesar.
You may expect to encounter familiar scenes, and these there are, lovingly illustrated by Chatriya Hemharnvibul. But if some be unfamiliar, recall the words of Horatio "O day and night, but this is wondrous strange!" and Hamlet's reply to him "And therefore as a stranger give it welcome." Welcome indeed, and not at all so strange, for the precise destination you may expect to reach upon your encounter with these thirty-three carefully selected and detailed images is that of self-discovery, and the meanings you derive through your interaction with them will be precisely your own. Such is the power, and but one of the many gifts, this delicately splendid Oracle has to offer. Each of the thirty-three cards might be considered as if a single musical note, and together they create chords and harmonies as varied as one's imagination desires. The Dance of Life echoes melodiously throughout the images, fulfilling visually what may then be experienced spiritually. The thoughtful and intelligent research and effort that was given by Nada Mesar in the selection of the scenes and settings, the characters and their significance, of the very atmosphere and flavour of each view presented, works to form an intricately diverse completeness. Nothing has been left out because the way is open to it, and nothing needs to be added because room has been prepared to bring it in. The path which is provided by the Wiccan Cards is as infinite as the sands along the seashore, and as personal as the journey you may take should you choose to begin, as always, and so ever on, with each step forward.

Where's the rest of it?,
By Anonymous "Anonymous" (Somewhere in Minnesota) - See all my reviews

When I saw that this deck was coming out (that was in January) I couldn't wait till spring to get it. When it finally arrived, I was terribly disappointed. The usual Little White Book (LWB) that comes with most decks should be called the Little White Pamphlet for this deck. The print is so incredibly tiny that I had to take it work and enlarge it on a copier just to read it (and I have very good vision). It is written in 4 different languages and offers one sample and very basic reading. The rest is up to you. The descriptions of the cards are very simplistic, and although the cards themselves are attractive, I'm sure there is more to their meaning than what is described. I guess I'll just have to wait and see if someone decides to publish a book to go with this deck or put one together of my own interpretations. Overall, disappointed with this one. I'd stick with The Well Worn Path or The Wiccan Pack by Sally Morningstar.

Didn't understand anything about it. It is totally different than regular tarots. It has numbers only and meanings weren't clear in enclosed booklet.
