5.0 out of 5 stars Chris Isaak could've been singing about this book!
What an amazing story! I totally adored how Kinsey Gray decided to go after Doug Storey. How many women do that in real life but how many do you read about in sexy hot fiction? This book rocks. And there is a secondary love story between an African-American couple that blew me away. Kudos to Ms. Kent for getting this JUST right!

Kinsey Gray and Doug Story have a history - but it's not until Doug announces his imminent move that Kinsey realizes how deep her feelings run for him. Soon, she finds herself using every trick in the book (and in the bedroom) to convince him to stay. But how can she do that when he hasn't even admitted to himself why he's leaving?

Alison Kent has written a contemporary romance with loveable, realistic, sympathetic characters. Both Doug and Kinsey have flaws, hang-ups, and unique personality traits. The secondary characters were also well-developed enough to make me want to read more about them. As this was my first foray into girl-gear territory, I'm going to keep an eye out for the other books in the series.

My only complaint has to do with pacing - I found the novel a little bland and slow in parts. There were chapters upon chapters where the hero and heroine did nothing but sit around and talk (either to each other, or to others). Eventually, I was dying for something more to happen, for a plot twist that never materialized. Still, the love scenes were scorching hot - really sizzling, top-notch stuff, and Ms. Kent writes perfectly - with just enough hints of description to bring the setting to life without bogging down the story with meaningless details. If only the plot had been a little more exciting, WICKED GAMES might have ended up on my keeper shelf.

This ain't spin the bottle!

gIRL-gEAR VP Kinsey Gray is not happy to hear Doug Storey is moving to Denver. She and the sexy architect have a bit of a history, but Kinsey was never quite sure how she felt about him. Now that he's leaving, it's time she made up her mind. WIth the help of a three-step plan to seduce Doug, Kinsey's positive she'll persuade him to stay. The wicked games she has planned will knock more than his socks off!

Doug's more than a bit surprised when Kinsey tells him she wants him to stay in Houston. Ever since their sexual escapades in Coconut Caye last year, he and Kinsey have kept things casual. While she certainly turns him on, he's not sure what they have is enough to keep him around. Of course, when he finds out Kinsey's up for grabs at a charity bachelorette auction, he's gonna make sure he's the only one taste Kinsey's wares!

5th in the www.gIRL-gEAR... series
