Book Description

DESCRIPTION:

Abby Lewis never pictured herself on the survival game show, Endurance Island. She's just not the 'survival' type. But when her boss offers her a spot on the show and the opportunity of a lifetime, she packs her bags and heads to the tropics to be a contestant.

Once in the game, it's clear that Abby's in over her head. The game itself is full of competitive, aggressive people, and no one's more aggressive than sexy, delicious - and arrogant - Dean Woodall. Sure he's clever, strong, good at challenges, and has a body that makes her mouth water. He also hates Abby just as much as she hates him. That's fine with her; she'll just ignore the jerk.

But the rules of Endurance Island are working against them. Abby and Dean are teamed up - alone - on the beach. It's either work together, or go home. Stuck with no one else's company but their own, they learn they do make a good team after all.

And that with just a little bit of kindling, the flames of hate can quickly turn to flames of passion. This book features enemies, lovers, enemies who become lovers, and lots and lots of tropical heat...

Length: 59,000 words

Excerpt:
With careful precision, I scooped a glop of the chunky peanut butter onto my finger, the mound glistening, and held it out to Dean. Just a small amount, enough to stave off hunger pains and give us a burst of energy.

My thought was to hold out the peanut butter so he could transfer it to his own finger. Perhaps the sight of me sucking on my finger before had distracted him, because he leaned in and took my finger in his mouth, rasping his tongue against it.

And just like that, the world flipped.

Heat rushed through me at the feel of his tongue against my finger, his hot mouth sucking on my skin. I forgot about the peanut butter that was his original goal and my body flushed, my mind skidding to a halt at the sight of his beautiful mouth over my skin, the feel of his tongue against my flesh. I must have shivered or tried to pull away, because his hand grasped my own and held me there as he lapped and rasped against my finger, cleaning my skin.

Searing me to my core.

A wave of heat pulsed through my body and I inhaled sharply. Dean's gaze moved to my face, and I knew that he was realizing the same thing I was. His tongue moved slowly against my skin, sensually. His eyes were locked on my own, and his tongue gave my finger one last flick that I felt all the way down to my core. Then he released my hand. "Sorry."

"It's okay," I said in a daze, my gaze still locked on his mouth.

He nodded at the shore and stepped past me, clearing his throat. "Boat's here."

In a daze, I stared down at my finger and wondered if I could put it in my own mouth after that...or would it be dangerously close to kissing him?

I bought this book because I love the TV series "Survivor", and a TV programme very much like this was the premise of the book. The book was stunning, the plot moved at a good pace. The characters were realistic and well developed. My only complaint is that the book was too short! I would have loved more detail here and there; especially regarding the conditions that the characters were living in, their day-to-day existence and the plotting and scheming.
There were a few sex scenes and they were certainly steamy, but they were not overly graphic or gratuitous. The characters were likeable, eventhough a few of their decisions, especially towards the end of the book were somewhat illogical. However, I suppose when you are emotionally distressed you don't neccessarily act terribly logically.
For an enjoyable ,quick read you cannot go wrong. Buy the book, the story is great and the price is right!

4.0 out of 5 stars I absolutely adored the author's writing! July 31, 2011

I got sucked into this book waiting at the doctor's office... then got mad when the nurse called my name. I was fine when the nurse and doctor said "be right back" because I could read a few more paragraphs. Instead of studying, I came home and went right back to this book until it was over. There's not much I can say about this little novella, just READ IT!

The Reality TV show thing has been done many times before. This is the first time I've enjoyed it. The characters bait each other so well! You got into Abby's head right in the beginning, and she's just such a likeable, realistic character. I loved her attitude about herself when she's stuck there with more beautiful women--not whining or complaining about her body, but proud of what she has.

I absolutely adored the author's writing! It was so fast paced I couldn't believe it when I realized I'd finished it so fast. Dean is Enemy Number 1 from the first meeting, and it just builds on that first comedic scene. I do loathe reality shows in real life, but I enjoyed the challenges and competition throughout the game. This book is a very fast read, and it's the perfect thing when you need something to cheer you up and make you smile. You'll smile for the rest of the day!

5.0 out of 5 stars Predictable, But Still Very Entertaining September 3, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Even though the plot was predictable, I still stayed up to finish this book. The main characters were well developed and the chemistry between the two was not just hot, but plain old fun to read. I've deleted free Kindle books after reading them, but this one is a keeper that I would reread soon.

3.0 out of 5 stars Reality Sex September 24, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I haven't actually ever watched a reality show, so this was an eye opener for me. Rewarding people for selfish and deceitful behavior seems wrong, but not really surprising. Admiration for cunning and "getting away" with bad behavior is what America seems to embrace. It was a little discouraging to read about though. I got this as a free download.

Abby is a book reviewer who is commanded by her boss to participate in a survival TV show to get a behind the scenes diary and generate interest for the show's ratings. While on the island, Abby is paired up with super athletic Dean and after a bumpy start, begin to fall for each other. But the environment is not conducive to a trusting relationship and despite Abby's belief in Dean's sincere feelings for her; she begins to fall for the other contestants' opinion that Dean was just using her to win. How will she ever know if he truly liked her or was just using her for his own glory?

This is a quick read with blatant descriptive sex between the two main characters. Neither of them seems to be concerned that their every move is being filmed. Both Abby and Dean are likeable characters, but Dean's transformation from super competitive contestant to love sick puppy seemed wrong and Abby seemed way too aggressive to wind up crying so much. I am not sure about the title either - Wicked? The only person truly wicked was Lana and she was not even depicted as the villain or as someone who would get what she deserved. That would have been satisfying.

Would I/Did I buy it? Yes
Would I read it again? Yes
Would I recommend it to friends? Yes

3.0 out of 5 stars Good til the end September 23, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed the book. From the excerpt I was hooked. It took a while to develop to the excerpt which was nice that it wasn't jumping in half way through the school. I enjoyed the authors style for the most part. Some things about the plot were very easy to guess. The characters are easy to figure out. The ending was a let down. It ended too quickly. There was so much build up to the ending that when it finished in about a page I was disappointed. Overall, a good book. A good book for the beach.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth a lot October 9, 2011

If you like pages and pages of detailed sex scenes, then this book is for you. "Wicked Games" is a fast read with a predictable plot and "straight from the TV show" characters, but for me, far too much time spent detailing the sexual exploits of the two main characters. It was well written enough for me to finish the book, albeit while skipping a lot of pages, but its value lies solely in mindless entertainment.

3.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining yet unrefined September 27, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It seemed to me that the author wrote the book quickly and without bothering to proofread or refine the story. There are obvious sequence mistakes like during the first vote when the contestants are told to vote for the team that should stay, but a page later the team with more votes is eliminated. The sexy scenes are clearly important for the story, although they become too frequent and long. I found myself skipping ahead in some of them. Still the story is entertaining and the setting and characters should be familiar to Survivor's fans.
