Born and reared in Lexington, NC and I had never heard these wonderful tales of how Wicked the city could be. Totally enjoyed. A good read for natives and non-natives alike. Highly recommend. Easy read and entertaining.

I loved this entertaining book. The way the author uses the written newspaper accounts of yesteryear is just plain fun. If this genre of writing were still practiced today, our daily papers would certainly be more interesting. Thank you, Alice, for providing a delightful afternoon of reading. I can't wait to see what little known stories are in your other books! I'll bet they can't hold a candle to Lexington!

I lived and worked in the Lexington/Salisbury area for fifteen years. Since I am not originally from the area, I was not familiar with some of the older references. I enjoyed the book very much; it brought back pleasant memories Davidson County. I had no idea Elvis had performed there! The book could have been edited a bit more. I may buy another copy to give as a gift to a Lexington resident!

I was born and grew up in Lexington. The stories that I remember from the newspaper were a lot more interesting than what was written about in this book.
I even found grammatical and spelling errors. I really wasted my money on this one.
