5.0 out of 5 stars Braveheart meets Metallica aka HEAVY Bagpipes, April 26, 2000

Thier motto is "Scottish Bagpipes & Drums in Your Ears" Thier music is intense and fun. This isn't you're father's bagpipe band. It is the old tunes (and new) tunes of celtic fair with a rock attitude and a good dose of humor. If you can't see them live this is the next best thing. If you grew up with rock and enjoy the traditional pipe tunes too this CD is for you. PS on thier new CD "Hammered" they do a cover of "Radar Love" which is a awsome.

5.0 out of 5 stars It will knock your hose off!, January 30, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Wicked Tinkers (Audio CD)
If you listen to this CD sitting down, you won't be for long. It's very difficult to keep your body parts from moving to the primal sounds and visceral beat of these guys. It's traditional bagpiping with a background of untraditional drumming which makes it a great mix of old and contemporary sound. THE BEST BAGPIPE CD IN YEARS!!!!

All it took was one listen and it hasn't left my CD player yet! Pounding rhythm, soulful pipes, playful tunes. The only thing better than listening to the CD is catching the Tinkers live. They're not to be missed! Drop everything and BUY THIS CD NOW!! You will not be disappointed and it will give you a great excuse to drive with a smile on your face!

These guys are very wicked indeed! I've been playing this over and over at work and at home. Everyone loves it. Definately not too stuffy as bagpipe recordings go. Try "Wallop the Cat" for a nice change. Put on your dancing shoes and let yourself go. Looking forward to Vol.II. Pass the haggis!

The Wicked Tinkers are a pipe & drum trio. Their incredible energy breathes new life into traditional melodies. They also add many new tunes to the mix. If you have the chance, it is well worth seeing them in person, as well. Look out for them at Scottish festivals all over the country. If you enjoy bagpipe music this is definitely a not to be missed CD!

5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC CD!! MUSIC OF MY HEART FOR MY FEET!, September 24, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Wicked Tinkers (Audio CD)
I saw Wicked Tinkers at the Fresno Highland Gathering and Games on September 18th and immediately bought this incredible CD. If I had to pick a favorite track, it would be "Roasty Set" -- even before it starts, I'm grinning like a fool and tapping my toes! I look forward to their next CD with great anticipation!

One day last year I was walking back from the beach, and I heard the sound of Celtic war drums: the Wicked Tinkers were playing to a huge crowd from pubescent street punks to surfers to yuppies, and everyone was having the time of their life. These guys are the greatest!
