OZZY RULES!, February 3, 2000
This review is from: Wicked [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Ozzy is captured here at the height of his mettalic powers - and he's preaching to the faithful with these wild videos from his 'No Rest For The Wicked' album. The first video is 'MIRACLE MAN' (uncensored), the second video is 'CRAZY BABIES,' and the third is 'CRAZY TRAIN' from the Randy Rhodes Tribute album. There is also about 10 minutes of behind-the-scenes footage of Ozzy and the band during the making of 'Miracle Man' and 'Crazy Babies' videos. The tape is too short - only 18 minutes long. But worth it if you're a true fan.

Brief home video collection - 3.5 stars, November 27, 2007
This review is from: Wicked [VHS] (VHS Tape)
As per released by Alice Cooper, Whitesnake and DAD here Ozzy gets in on the act with an album tie in collecting together the videos from his No Rest For The Wicked album.
Perhaps for younger readers I should offer a quick word of explanation as to why bands did this. You see kids, before you could rip clips off the internet you could only get your hands on video clips by waiting around for them to be played on MTV or some other music show. And then record them on your VCR. So bands would often collect their promo videos and quickly knock up an attendant home video release. And thus earn extra cash from clips already paid for.
Anyway, this video is one of the better ones not just because it has videos from one of Ozzys most incisive and excellent albums of the 80's but also because it has some back stage footage which while not awesome is at least somewhat interesting and not totally cringe worthy.
As for the videos themselves, they are for the tracks Miracle Man - great song and good video; Crazy Babies - average song and average video and Crazy Train from the Tribute album - Great song with not bad at all video.
And there you have it, an 18 minute snapshot of video footage directed by one Curt Marvis and given the mans stature at the time it presumably sold enough to make it a worthwhile venture for all concerned.
In this day and age, should you find one of these old VHS videos still in working order the real question is whether you want to part with your hard earned for this sort of thing. You could surely download the video clips from somewhere and given the Osbournes TV show do you really need to see backstage nonsense with Ozzy circa 1988?
Collectors should snap these up, they must be few and far between not to mention that given the releases brevity it's not likely to be given a proper DVD re-release. General fans however probably don't need this.
