A must read, April 7, 2001
The way I read it Sabrina Steel is swept back in time and into the arms of the gorgous Rafael. She resistes untill the bitter end yet somehow captures the rogue pirate's heart. All in all this is a very good book yet could be better. But don't take my opinion you will have to read it yourself.

A Romance Novel Lover, and Hopeful Writer, September 24, 2000
By A Customer
I tought this book was extremly well written, its the frist I've read of Linda Jones, but now I'm a fan. The idea of going back in time and meeting your dream man isn't the type of romance I'm normally into but I fell in love with Sabrina and Rafael. They fit so well together and the tension was great. It really kept me into the story. It's a great read for any day you won't be able to put it down, at least I could't.

Time travel with a passionate couple, July 8, 2011
This review is from: On A Wicked Wind (Paperback)
Since I do not usually enjoy Time travel romances I was a bit skeptical about Linda Jones's On a Wicked Wind. I was surprisingly pleased by the story. Yes, it had the cliché's of a character expecting twentieth century ideas to be around in the 1700's but fortunately the heroine was mostly smart enough to realize that she had to make do with her situation.
Sabrina Steel finds herself transported back to the late 1600's after she falls into the ocean. She washes on shore and is discovered naked by a pirate.
Rafael is enchanted with Sabrina and he whisks her away on his ship as he realizes that it is dangerous for her to remain on the beach because of fierce natives. He takes her to his island intending to keep her until he tires of her. He is infinitely patient with her, teasing and charming. Rafael is a Spaniard who has seen his share of trouble. He is a passionate man and he longs for Sabrina.
Sabrina is tempted by Rafael but she has no desire to be the mistress of a pirate and Rafael has stated he does not believe in love. In modern times Sabrina had a boring fiancé and she wants more in her 1600's life, a chance at a happy marriage and children. Eventually these two do come to an agreement and for a while their life is idyll but Rafael's old worries and haunting past stand in the way of his happiness.
Sabrina fears that her life with Rafael will never work and she is pretty intuitive when it comes to his actions, she more than he is the brave one in the relationship when it comes to expressing emotions. Sabrina is a generous person and she is also willing to begin a new life full of purpose even if it means leaving Rafael.
These leads are passionate about everything - opinions, romance, convictions- they do not do things half way and I liked that about them. They were never a boring couple and their actions were true to their characters. For a time travel romance, this one is pretty good.
