Steve Vernon is a popular storyteller and author of numerous books including Haunted Harbours: Ghost Stories from Old Nova Scotia. He is the resident fortune teller at Little Mysteries Bookstore in Halifax and participates in the Writers in the Schools program. He lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

An acceptable re-telling of some of the folklore of the lands of the north. The style most reminded me of some of the "true tales of the paranormal" that were printed by Scholastic in the late-60's and early 70's. The books would be best excellent material for young people between the ages of 8 and 12, but is too formualic for older readers.
