Turn down the air conditioning!,
By Storm (M.I., FL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Wickedly Hot: Heat (Harlequin Temptation) (Mass Market Paperback)
Ms. Kelly's latest Temptation is as hot as the delicious cover (yum!)
Savannah, Georgia is the perfect setting for revenge, lust, and a little voodoo. Both Jade Maguire and Ryan Stoddard are after revenge, not knowing they've been setup by a crafty grandmother looking to see her grandson settle down. Fortunately for Jade and Ryan, they are perfectly matched--in and out of bed! Well executed with delightful characters you'll want to turn down the air conditioning while Ryan and Jade turn up the heat!

heated contemporary romance,
This review is from: Wickedly Hot: Heat (Harlequin Temptation) (Mass Market Paperback)
Savannah Businesswoman Jade Maguire is irate that some heartless Manhattan hunk broke the heart of her sister Jenny when her sibling was trying to make it on stage. She hopes to one day have the opportunity to teach Ryan Stoddard a lesson on breaking hearts.
The grandmother of New York architect Ryan Stoddard has met Jade and thinks she is perfect for her grandson. She decides to matchmake them from a distance, not an easy feat when he lives in Manhattan and Jade in Savannah. So grandma "hysterically" calls Ryan insisting that Jade Maguire stole the painting her father gave to her. She demands that her grandson retrieve her painting and teach the thief a lesson. Because he would do anything for his grandmother, Ryan agrees to handle the situation. He travels to Savannah to confront Jade. When they meet and she realizes who he is she is elated because her chance to "avenge" her sibling has arrived at her doorstep. As Jade and Ryan hide their real respective missions from the other, neither expected love to enter the squabble. WICKEDLY HOT is a heated contemporary romance starring two likable protagonists with different agendas that make for an amusing read for fans because ironically we know what neither Ryan nor Jade discern about their opponent. The fun is watching love form, but trust not come with it as she feels guilt for falling for a philandering lout and he feels shame for desiring the felon who stole from his grandmother the matchmaker. Leslie Kelly turns Savannah hot with this tale of mistrust and romance. Harriet Klausner

Didn't Feel the Love,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Wickedly Hot (Heat) (Kindle Edition)
Ryan's grandmother is trying to matchmake, figures Jade is perfect for him but he's never open to being set up. Grandma knows Jade because Jade contacted her about a painting that she owns that is stolen goods from the civil war and asks for it's return for the history society Jade works for. Which grandma agrees to, but then decides the best way to get Ryan to meet Jade is to tell Ryan that Jade swindled her. Ryan searches for Jade, but ends up finding her sister first, takes her to lunch and realizes she's not the right one. Then he shows up in Savannah Georgia at a banquet where Jade is. Attraction sparks. But he's there to retrieve the painting for his grandmother from the "thief", and she's there for revenge because she thinks he broke her sister's heart (her sister exaggerated about her meeting with Ryan... alot).
Jade entices him outside at the banquet and ties him to a fountain, naked, where awards will be given--fortunately only two older women saw him before he got loose. Later he ties her to his bed after luring her into his room dressed like a horrible tourist who joined her historical murder tour and is giving her trouble. It was a bit over the top on the antics and not much romance. I didn't feel much chemistry between them.

Sultry, sexy, and Wickedly Hot,

This review is from: Wickedly Hot: Heat (Harlequin Temptation) (Mass Market Paperback)
Sultry, sexy, and set in Savannah. This is what's in store for you in the latest book by Leslie Kelley called aptly Wickedly Hot. I must confess to adoring all of her books, but this one is especially good. My favorite part involves a statue in a fountain, a silk scarf, and a private garden. Don't miss this book, it's excellent.
