They are 1/2 inch wide and 6 inches long. I just received them for use in an old-fashioned oil lamp. I wish they were wider (3/4 to 1 inch). But hey, there didn't seem to be any other option and, so far, it's working.

I didn't realize I haven't wrote this review yet.

For all I can tell it does a fine job. My advice is, when the wick gets too short to reach the kerosene sew it onto another wick--not as much waist.
