4.0 out of 5 stars Slept on!
I picked up this cd at the advice of one of my fellow "heads"! And this is one of the best "underground" albums of the year! It's definitely "mood" music like the heads in my circle like to call it! Mos Def and Talib are razor sharp, and the lesser known artist like Invisible Mc's and Mr.Complex are two of the smoothest sounding mc's out...

3.0 out of 5 stars middle of the road.
This project is pretty much standard material. I certainly don't dislike the album, but I wasn't enamored with it either. The bulk of the production didn't really hook my ear and I found myself skipping through the material. However, the opener "Voicestress" with Truth Enola and De La Soul is an excellent cut. This project is pretty much standard material. I certainly don't dislike the album, but I wasn't enamored with it either. The bulk of the production didn't really hook my ear and I found myself skipping through the material. However, the opener "Voicestress" with Truth Enola and De La Soul is an excellent cut. The beat gallops along nicely and De La's lyrical contribution ups the value of the track immensly. Mos Def and Talib Kweli come through on "Another World", an ultramagnetic track that lives up to its title. "Tooly Crew Personified" with Pharoah Monch flexing his slanguistics and "Shyste" featuring J-Live over a choppy guitar loop are the only other two memorable cuts on this compilation. The rest is, well, the rest.

Mos Def and Talib are razor sharp, and the lesser known artist like Invisible Mc's and Mr.Complex are two of the smoothest sounding mc's out right now! De La even clocks in with a bangin track with Truth Enola! This cd is getting heavy heavy rotation on my system! Definitely pick this "gem" up!

Yo, this album is for the heads. It contains smooth beats with dope lyrics. The album is basicly jass/r&b beats but dont let that stop you from copin it. With artist like J-live, DeLa, & MosDef it packs a heavyweight punch. Check the sleeper cut by Sub T. Im out.................
