4.0 out of 5 stars Good for Beginners and Intermediate Level, August 16, 1999
This review is from: Wideband CDMA for Third Generation Mobile Communications (Artech House Universal Personal Communications) (Hardcover)
I found this book very good people with beginner or intermediate level knowledge of CDMA concept. The book can be divided in two. In some parts of the book the writers treat the readers as just blank pages, so they try to explain everything from the scratch. But in other parts they are just engineers, doing engineer talk. But I guess this method is a must when we consider the contents of the book which is quiet broad. One thing I thought missing was that there were not enough illustrations. Still I recommend this book for people with communications background who want to learn about the tomorrow' s mobile networks, and for those who have very scant knowledge of the contents.

5.0 out of 5 stars a Good Book, May 3, 2001
This review is from: Wideband CDMA for Third Generation Mobile Communications (Artech House Universal Personal Communications) (Hardcover)
If you need a large amount of 3G information with a Technical RF Language in short time, and you have some RF experience with narrow CDMA, GSM or other 2G cellular system, this book is for you. I would like to remark the summarized and clear information the book contains, touching (even not so deeper as I would like) almost all the aspects about RF Engineering with 3G (WCDMA), including the design/optimization ones. They do some comparisons between different access technologies, and I encountered it very useful.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for beginners, September 10, 2001
This review is from: Wideband CDMA for Third Generation Mobile Communications (Artech House Universal Personal Communications) (Hardcover)
A nice book to know the basics of WCDMA.
Very interesting approach to the link-budget problem of the WCDMA.
Anyway today the book is a bit dated, as specifications of WCDMA have been changed.
