Amazing, September 14, 2009

Citizen Fish has been my favorite band for years now (ever since I first heard Thirst) and this album is definitely top notch. I think everything about this band and everything they have put out is basically perfect. I'd probably recommend some of their later releases like Thirst or Life Size if you've never listened to the band before, as Wider Than A Postcard is a little bit harder to get into. It's one of those CD's that really grows on you though and it is a beautiful thing to listen to.
Also, you should check out Culture Shock, the band before Citizen Fish and after Subhumans. Culture Shock was also amazing...basically anything Dick Lucas and co. touch is gold in my opinion.

I am writing this review for one reason. If there is some chance someone might be considering purchasing this album but decides not to due to lack of reviews perhaps I can make a difference. This is without a doubt one of the finest examples of the crossing of punk and ska musical styles. It is innovative, deep, and melodic. Please don't hesitate to try it if you appreciate other bands doing similar crossovers.
