More About the Author

I'm one of those people with an evenly balanced right and left brain. I have a BA in English, but I recently finished my final year as a high school math teacher. Yes, I said math teacher.

I love to cook, both gourmet and clean, and was a pastry chef in a former life. I am a practicing Wiccan with a smidge of Buddhist tossed in. I practice and teach Yoga.

I love everything Japanese and hope to take an extended trip there in the next few years. My house is done in Japanese style and every year along with the Forth of July, I celebrate the Japanese summer festival.

I am also an avid Renaissance Faire player. Every year I attend several faires and festivals on the west coast. I started writing fiction because of adventures that occurred at Renn Faire.

I currently live and work in Portland, OR and occasionally visit my retirement ranchette (15 acres) outside of Kingman, AZ (about two hours south of Las Vegas).

My Debut Novel, Widow's Peak, published by The Wild Rose Press, is available now from Amazon.com. I am currently working on Book 2 in the series, Kissed By A Rose.

This review is from: Widow's Peak (Paperback)
I loved this book. The author does a magnificent job of taking us to medieval England where she shows us the customs and mores of the time. Her descriptions of the area and the people are excellent. The love story is heart-wrenching and poignant, from its hopeless beginning to the beautiful conclusion. Amye blossoms with Laine's loving, adding depth to her already loving and caring personality. The characters are well-drawn and fleshed out, from those we grow to love to those we love to hate. The mystery behind the hero being both an assassin and a troubadour is intriguing and revealed bit by bit. The writing is excellent and the story development masterful. I couldn't imagine finding favor with an assassin, but that certainly changed before the end of the book. Alain de la Vierre comes across as a good and kind man with traits altogether unlike those I would expect to find in a killer. This writer kept me interested all the way through and I would definitely read another one of her books. - Jaye Leyel
