I first heard M. Matthieu sing maybe 35 years ago while stationed in one of my early tours of Germany. While she is French she sings in at least three languages and she has a beautiful voice. While I still have some LPs all the cassettes I had have died long since. I am grateful to be able to find her music on CDs. There are a couple more songs I am still searching for; Te Ton Vu(sp?) and Blue Bayou. Beautiful voice and easy on the eyes, too. I have long been a great fan.

Fan of Mirielle since 1979, love everything she does in German, French and English. Have had the oppertunity to see her preform live while stationed in Germany with the U.S.A.F. in the mid eighties. Her performance was wunderbar! Her last encore from that performance could not have been topped, she came out on stage telling the audience she was tired and asked if they minded if she sung a song in another language, it was mandrin chinese and she sung it accapella! Really wish she would come to the U.S., that would be one performance I would not miss for all the money in the world! Cannot say enough about her, that voice is so beautiful and I really do love Christmas music, her Christmas CD takes me back to the Many Christmases I spent there in the great country of Germany and all of the wonderful memories of Christmas time during the years of 1969-1971, 1979-1981, 1983-1987 my many friends and relatives from there as well!
Anyone who has never heard her sing in any of the many languages her can sing is really missing out on one of the greatest singers in the world. From the German recording industry she has earned the title Welt Star (World Star) and she truly does deserve this title!

I was born and raised in Wiesbaden, Germany and grew up listening to this artist. She sings the German songs so beautifly...ennunciates each syllable with her beautiful high voice. Listening to this CD brought back all the wonderful Christmas memories from so long ago. This CD would be a great addition to any collection.

This is Mireille Mathieu's German Christmas CD. As you would expect from her, it is well done in every regard. I really struggled in deciding whether to give this four stars or five. It contains 12 Christmas songs in German ranging from traditional German Christmas carols, such as "Stille Nacht" (Silent Night), to German versions of such songs as "White Christmas" and "Winter Wonderland". If you buy gifts for people who speak German, or who are Mireille fans, then you may want to consider this as a gift. If you speak German, or are a Mireille fan, then you may want to add this to your Mireille collection. She sings these songs very well.
