Backyard Wiffle Ball,

Very hard to hit the ball. Timing is very critical and on the small screen it is even harder. Fielding is hard as well because of the lack of depth perception. Great graphics and game modes. Would be an absolute blast if I could hit the ball.

irritating game,

This game is pretty bad. I bought it for $3.99 and I think I bought it just for the price thinking it was going to be like the Wiffleball game on Nabiscoworld.com. I was definitely wrong. It's impossible to hit and when you try to catch the ball and think you're under it, it's nowhere near you. It's absolutely ridiculous. I don't know how a little kid could enjoy and figure out this game because I'm 25 and I can't. I've been playing video games for over 20 years and this has got to be one of the worst I've ever played. The venues are cute and believable, such as the school yard and the typical suburban street. You can sound off a car alarm if you hit it with the ball and so forth. If the controls were better, it might be a good game, but I can see why the price of Mario games stays up at $20+ while this one remains under $5.

My nephews seemed to like it, i bought it christmas 2007. I played it, its hard to figure out how to hit the ball, especially with all the wacky wiffleball pitches! You do catch on quickly though I play wiffleball with them in the summertime, so i thought this would be a fun game for them. i don't think they still play it but they did play it for a few months. You know how it is, they've already recieved probably 10 or 15 other new games by now and it gets lost in the shuffle.

If I were not such an avid fan and player of the sport of wiffleball I'd completely hate this video game. If you've ever played the game on nabiscoworld.com and expected a step up for wiffleball in the video game world, well...you expected too much. The format of the game is almost identical to the one on nabisco world, except a little worse. The music is absolutely dreadful and the graphics are sub-par of what I expected or at least hoped for.
As for gameplay, the game could use some improvement or in this case...completion. The game features 4 fields, about 8 players, and the point of the game is to compete in a tournament between the players, once you've beaten everyone or have the most wins when the tournament is over: you win. Expecting more? Well, that's just it. The game is over. The tournament takes about half an hour to complete and you're left feeling ripped off - luckily you can buy it cheap and used right here on amazon so you don't waste much money on this otherwise worthless game. So if you've got a few bucks you just want to throw away, buy this. If you're a big wiffleball fan and like to collect stuff then I'd suggest getting this, that's why I did - but other than the collective reasoning, I'd probably sell or give away this game. But if you do get this game, keep it on mute - because if it doesn't kill you, it'll bug the crap out of a bystander. |
