A lot of people have a hard time (me included) setting these up to communicate with your iPhone. Seems like a lot of bad ratings on similar products are due to the owner just giving up. Can't really blame them I guess. I used this with an iPhone4s and a 2006 Ford F250.

Product info: is pretty bad but in all honesty I didn't load the mini cd that came with the product. Don't even know if it will feed into the cd slot of an iMac. Anyway, there's a few different names for this one and it wasn't written anywhere on the packaging or device. I finally started searching based on the wifi signal name that appeared on my phone's found hotspots, CLKDevice. After searching a bunch of different sites here's the set up that worked for me...

1. Turn the car on (engine running)
2. Plug in the OBD
3. Go to settings on your iPhone > wifi > Select CLKDevice
4. Next tap on the little blue arrow for CLKDevice to drill into it
5. Select Static, then type in the appropriate info:
IP 192.168.0.12
Subnet 255.255.255.0
6. Go to the app store and get Rev Lite or Rev
7. In Rev, go to settings > hardware, and select custom
8. Enter IP 192.168.0.10 and Port 35000 and it should start connecting.

The results were pretty underwhelming but what do you expect for a free app I guess. It'll cost you another $30 for the full Rev app.

I gave it 3 stars because it works like it says it will but difficulty getting it set up was a little ridiculous.

If you are like me and you've been looking for something to work with your IOS apple devices. This does work without having to do a jailbreak on your IOS device.
Also, if your very observant like me.. You'll notice the product looks identical to the PLX Device Kiwi they sell. Well because it is! When setting this up, use that driver or select it on The apps REV, Palmer Performance - Dash Command, etc. very easy setup. Especially it being a wifi hotspot type device. A great buy rather spending a WHOLE lot more from PLX devices.

I will be honest it was a bit of a pain to get setup at first because of how the wireless networking had to be setup however once that was done it has worked great ever since and I have no complaints. I have a co-worker who bought a blue tooth device for his android and hes already gone through three different devices and I'm still on my first. I may come back later and amend this review with how I got mine setup so that it may be easier for others.

took a little while to get connected, mainly my fault but once it was it worked as advertized. No problems what so ever. I can't wait to try the track mode this spring when we start autocrossing again.

I had tried another Bluetooth device and that certainly did not work with iOS, but downloaded a free program to make sure connections and things worked, and then purchased Dash Commander.

The connection is a slightly different WiFi connection than your normal connection to a WiFi router, and requires that you change the settings from DHCP to a fixed IP. (From settings in device, find wireless device, mine shows something like "CLKDevice", and then change from DHCP to static. IP needs to be 192.160.0.XX (where the last number is anything between 2 and 250, Except 10, which is what reader address is. Mask is 255.255.255.0, and that's all that's required) Once you set your iOS device to have the fixed IP, the software can find the reader. This seems to be the "standard" for many WiFi readers, since I found all the info I needed from my iPad sitting in my car.

I like the device is mounted at the end of a cable unit versus just a plug in device, as it's easier to see when lights are flashing to confirm I've seated the connector right. Plus reminds me to disconnect, since it remains powered on (sort of - lights on but my car doesn't provide any data, perhaps others do) when ignition switched off. I saw a question indicating the software might be able to turn off, but haven't yet tried.

I used on my own vehicle to read some fault codes and reset to confirm they returned. My vehicle ultimately needed repairs, but originally purchased just to make sure. I've since used in my vehicle in real time with the Dash Commander program, and even used in a rental car I had for a week.

I like the real-time information and gives more details that my dash.

After using the device maybe three times, I was not able to see the SSID anymore on my laptop or iphone, spent quite a bit of time to make sure, it is not something totally stupid on my side.
Well, at the end of the day I carefully opened it, just to find out, that the manufacturer has places the WIFI antenna in between the two print boards completely un isulated. In other words, the antenna solder spots can touch the connections on the print board.
I am sure, this is the reason for the malfunction now.
I will contact the seller for refund.

I ordered the WIFI version, Aukey sent me the Bluetooth version. What a pain. Waited a week for this to get the wrong one. I'm upset.

Update: Aukey contacted me and made a very nice offer to resolve the issue and I accepted the solution. Nice to do business with a responsive and fair supplier. I would order again from these people. Occasionally mistakes happen but what matters is how the issue is resolved.
