Product Description

This very compact unit attaches easily to your keychain. It will detect any wireless network (802.11b/g) up to 300' away. It has 4 LEDs displaying the signal strength. It can also be used to pinpoint the source of the network as it is directional. Simply hold down the button and point the seeker in a sweeping motion to find the source of the network signal. The LEDs change instantly as the signal strength changes as you move. This is simply the best WIFI detector on the market today. It is the most powerful detector available and packed into this little compact body makes it a "must have" gadget for any owner of a wireless-capable laptop.

5.0 out of 5 stars WIFI Seeker exceeded my expectations, December 23, 2004

When I first got a wireless network at home I purchased a Kensington WIFI Finder. It worked fine. But as time went on I saw these smaller versions come out from Chrysalis Development. I heard they were more powerful and more versatile. So I bought one. I was NOT disappointed. Since it was about the same size as my keyless entry remote for my car, it fit perfectly on my keychain. Also it has a much longer range than the others. But best of all, it is directional. Meaning I can simply turn my body while holding down the button and the LEDs change instantly as the signal strength increases or decreases. What a great product. I Love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great wifi detector!, March 26, 2007
This review is from: Wifi Seeker Finder (Electronics)
Not much to say about this product, but that it works, and works well. You press the button and it tells you how much signal strength wifi you have at that moment, wherever you are located. It doesn't tell you if it's a secure connection, just that there is wifi where you are at.

I love this thing though, if I have my laptop with me, I'll give it a shot - saves me from digging out my laptop and turning it on if I don't have internet access. Even worked at my friends house who doesn't have wifi.. :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Works Fine!, February 13, 2007
This review is from: Wifi Seeker Finder (Electronics)
I hadn't have the chance to test it in a real situation were i was in need for a hot spot, however its a neat gadget to carry around, its small and very light, i tested it by trying to detect a signal from a known spot, and i was far across the street, and it detected instantly.

One bad thing, it detects the signal from my laptop, which in a real situation, it may mislead you by detecting false hot spots to other WiFi enabled laptops.

I suggest replacing the batteries once received, because its weak and the gadget wont work correctly.

Be careful of what you order, i didn't receive the WiFi Seeker from pctel, instead i got an all black one from WiFi Seeker company, where at the back of it says 'Patent pending'!
