This is the original Founders' Edition of Quelf. These were printed in limited quantities. We'll just come right out and say it... Quelf is insanely fun. And it''s easy to play too... but the outcome of Quelf is anything but simple. As you move around the gameboard, crazy things start to happen. Players start talking weird. Your friend's face is wrapped in toilet paper. Your Mom is talking like Dracula with her thumb on her forehead. You're sitting underneath the kitchen table until someone rolls a "4". And when the dust settles, the laughing finallt stops and someone crawls away the winner, you realize... you've never had this much fun playing a board game in your life. Featuring 720 mind-numbing cards in 5 unique categories, Quelf is an unforgettable and impossibly hilarious experienece. Ages: 6 and up

Quelf is a new board game from Wiggity Bang games. It's a variety/party game that plays out sort of like Cranium or Rigamarole, with players doing challenges from five categories as they move along the board. However, this game is infused with a serious sense of silliness that has never been seen in a board game before.

The goal of the game is to escape from the land of Quelf, an invented land that's ruled by Queen Spatula and populated by such characters as Mrs. Pickle Feather, The Biscuit Farmer, The Super Ninja Monkey and Mr. Lugnut.

Game play is simple, you just roll the dice, move your playing piece ahead and read the card designated by the space you land on. The card categories are Roolz, Quizzle, Stuntz, Showbiz and Scatterbrainz.

Roolz cards are an interesting feature. They affect any or all players, and you generally hold on to them and follow the rule that the card gives you until you draw a new Roolz card that replaces it. Sometimes you'll have to follow the Roolz card for the rest of the game. Some examples might be: "Go find anything that is not normally considered jewelry. Wear this item around your neck as a necklace for the rest of the game." I pulled a wire coat hanger open so it'd fit over my neck. I looked stunning. Another card instructs you to speak with an Australian accent until otherwise instructed. Good to ya, mate!

Quizzle cards are traditional trivia cards, if by traditional you mean totally absurd. That's not totally true, some of them are pretty basic, for example, "At which national park would you find the "Old Faithful" geyser? A. Yellowstone; B. Jellystone; C. Big Al's Trailerland Park; D. The Grand Canyon. Easy, right? Then how about "Give the middle name of each player".

If you're interested in playing THE BEST board game to hit the scene in many years, then Quelf is IT.

I picked this game up on a whim and was totally blown away by the originality and level of humor in this game. It's one thing to have fun playing a game. It's another thing entirely, to laugh so hard that your stomach hurts the next day.

The writing, creativity and variety in the game is staggering. The blend of gameplay mechanics (in the form of rule cards that you must obey throughout the game), humor (in the form of non-stop-crying-your-eyes-out-laughter) and luck (you'll need a fair dose of it) makes Quelf stand out among the crowd.

Quelf is a game that will have you doing the most incredible stunts, the silliest songs and acting, dancing and even writing poems. The trivia in this game defies description. How they found the "facts" on the Quizzle cards is beyond me... and the riddles and tongue twisters in the game are classics.

There's such a wide variety of cards that you really have no idea what is coming next. What makes Quelf stand tall above other board games is the quality of the humor and the unique way that certain cards play off of each other. I don't know if the people who created this game could have possibly thought of some of the combinations that happen in this game. Let's just say that if you find yourself wearing a helmet, holding a spoon in your mouth while you keep one hand on the ground and have to snort like a pig anytime someone rolls a 3, then you must be playing Quelf!

My husband and kids have played Quelf a half a dozen times now, and each game has been memorable. Our kids (ranging from ages 11 to 16) have all loved playing the game - and most shockingly, they actually want to play Quelf with their parents.

This game is somewhat similar to Cranium, except for the fact that you can't believe the creators were sober when they came up with the thing. You choose a character with a bizarre name, such as "The Biscuit Farmer," "The Super Ninja Monkey," or "Queen Spatula," who come along with a bizarre description, and move them along the board. To reach the end you draw cards, with each card deciding the appropriate action. There are five different colors and categories of cards, "roolz," "quizzle," "stuntz," "showbiz," and "scatterbrainz."

An example of the kinds of crazy insanity that might ensure if each card is chosen:

Roolz: "Every time a `1' is rolled, all players must say, "Hail to the Chinese biscuit." The last player to say this must pay the penalty."

Quizzle: "What color is blue?"

Stuntz: "Did you have a bad lunch? Give us 3 good, loud burps."

Showbiz: "Set the timer. You are the President of the United States. Give us a speech about your foreign policy in Nepal. Do this until the timer runs out without breaking character to avoid the penalty."

Scatterbrainz: "Draw a card. (For instance, `Countries in Africa), and each person playing must give an answer, going around the table until someone gets stumped.

This game is fun, even if someone crazy. Whoever you play with must have a tolerance for some silliness, but in this game that's the fun of it. There is little to no set up, and it's a good way to get to know people better . . . and obtain blackmail pictures.
