5.0 out of 5 stars Great Screeching Weasel album!
This was the second Screeching Weasel album I bought, right after Boogadaboogadaboogada. This album blew me away; lyrically, it was much more deliberate and thoughtful than the other album with songs such as "Second Floor East" (about this girl who escapes from reality with the TV), "One Step Beyond" (about people who try to "preach" their...

3.0 out of 5 stars one of their weakest
Screeching Weasel has put out a number of great albums over the years, thanks to Ben Weasel's immense songwriting talent. If you're new to Screeching Weasel, check out MY BRAIN HURTS or ANTHEM FOR A NEW TOMORROW; each album as a slew of great songs. WIGGLE was made between those 2 albums, but strangely is quite uneven and has just a few great songs. According to the liner...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Screeching Weasel album!, December 28, 1999
This review is from: Wiggle (Audio CD)
This was the second Screeching Weasel album I bought, right after Boogadaboogadaboogada. This album blew me away; lyrically, it was much more deliberate and thoughtful than the other album with songs such as "Second Floor East" (about this girl who escapes from reality with the TV), "One Step Beyond" (about people who try to "preach" their punkness), "Going Home" (about people who are scared of others because of the way they look), and "Hanging Around" (reminiscing about past times). Musically, this album is melodic, sometimes poppy, punk at its best. If you don't get this, you are really missing out on one of life's major experiences.

5.0 out of 5 stars SW's second best work, November 23, 1998

This is the album that got me hooked on Screeching Weasel and their unique brand of "pop punk": melodic, fast paced, with wonderfully written, witty lyrics. I love this album, second only to My Brain Hurts, which I feel has a more cohesive feel. This is a good jumping on point for new or would be Screeching Weasel fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars classic weasel, April 16, 2009
This review is from: Wiggle (Audio CD)
This was originally put out in 92. I'm mid 40s. It is as great as the My Brain Hurts early stuff. Certainly not a middle rated 3 stars as earlier rating says. Weasel/Jughead/Vapid don't get no better than that. Classic post 70's version 2.0 punk. 5 stars all the way.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite albums of all time!, June 15, 2007
This review is from: Wiggle (Audio CD)
This one takes me back... It reminds me of care free days. This has been my favorite SW album since it came out... I think that they are at their finest here, lyrics are fantastic. They do a great teenage head cover song too!

screeching weasel is definitely one of the best punk rock bands of all time and this album is no exception. this may not be as solid as my brain hurts, but it's pretty close. best songs are teenage slumber party, slomotion, joanie loves johnny, it's all in my head, going home, and all the other songs aren't that far behind. if you're a fan then this is a must have.

5.0 out of 5 stars Damn Good Weasel effort., December 28, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Wiggle (Audio CD)
WIGGLE is my favorite Screeching album. Although it may not be as solid as "my Brain Hurts", it has really top quality songs like, "Hanging Around," "Second Floor East," "It's All in my Head," and "Going Home." These songs have an epic punk rock feel to them that excel past their competitors. Back in 92 when you were grunging out to Temple of the Dog, Screeching Weasel were recording this geat album.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Lock it all inside my head.", December 24, 2000

This, along with the album Emo, are Weasel at their most real and human. Anyone who pans either album is who Ben is singing about in "You're the Enemy" off the new album. That's not to say that this album is perfect, there's a little bit too much instrumental wankery on a few songs. Nor is that to say that this album doesn't have sugary poppy stuff on it (Joanie and Johnny, etc) but this is real music, and if you feel threatened by that, don't buy it, and look for the new blink 182 instead.

WIGGLE was made between those 2 albums, but strangely is quite uneven and has just a few great songs. According to the liner notes on the CD, the band was feeling the pressure from the relative success they had with MY BRAIN HURTS. Oh well. WIGGLE is still a good album, and worth buying, but it's far from their best. The remastered version of the album has a few extra songs which are excellent.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not that good..., December 18, 1999
By A Customer

I was disapointed when I heard this CD, I was expecting catchy songs like Cool Kids and Dummy Up, but now this CD sits in its case except for the occanisnal playing of Automatic Rejector... I reccomend buying Emo, Television City Dream, or Beat is on the Brat instead...
