I'm amazed at parents saying they bought this toy for a 1st Birthday!!! That is completely dangerous..I agree. This toy is not recommended for a child that young. It is for 2 and up so for all you folks disappointed put it away and give it to them at the appropriate and SAFE time. Even 16mo is probably too young and yes it does not surprise me in the least that they would fall through the hole. They put age recommendations on toys for a REASON.

My 2.5yr old LOVES this car and will not play with anything else. He is a very tall boy at 95% in height and weight and fits very comfortably. I was looking for a good size car that he could use for a few yrs and did not want to get those big motorized cars. This was perfect. We tried the Cozy Coupe with the hard top but saw too many kids climbing on top and tipping it over. We tried the one with the soft convertible top but found the entrance more narrow and my son a more difficult time getting in/out/ This one he would hop in/out w/ no problems and had lats of leg room.

I ordered this for my 2 girls to add to their Wiggles' collection. When they opened it up Christmas morning, they were both squealing and tried to climb in at the same time! Now they have to "take turns" to play. The car is a little smaller than the Coupe car but real easy to get in and out of. Assembly was fairly easy. If you have Wiggles' fans, this is a must!

My 22 month old loves the Wiggles. We bought this last night and she drove it up and down the sidewalk with no problems. Yes, walmart is cheaper. $37.77 in store, $35.77 online. It's durable and will last forever. Was NOT hard to assemble, don't think you'll be able to remove the wheels once assembled. It's a bright, cute little car. Worth the money, great little Wiggles car!
update. 12-30-04. My daughter's now 2 yrs 3 months and still likes this car, but it's hard for her to move with her feet b/c she's taller. She still likes it though.

A super toy -- better, perhaps because it doesn't have all the bells and whistles and leaves room for the child's imagination to take over.

But while I always shop Amazon first, and do virtually all my on-line buying here, I was stunned by the $35 charge for shipping this item (and others like it). So like the other reviewers below, I went to another brick-and-mortar's website and bought it there, paying $12 for shipping.

With this ridiculous shipping charge, Toys-R-Us is giving Amazon a black eye. And that's not fair -- to us or to Amazon.

My son is one and loves being pushed around in this car. He would definitely fall through the bottom if we didn't hold his shirt while we pushed him, so it *should* have a seatbelt. It will be several months before he's tall enough to move this on his own, but that's ok.

Please do not buy this toy for a little one and expect them to be able to maneuver without assistance. In addition to the age range, I think this toy should have a minimum height requirement. A short 2 year old's legs might still be too small to reach the floor.

Also, the hole in back is the gas tank for the Little Tykes gas pump, not a spot for a pole to push the car. This is not a push-style ride-on toy.

I'M ON LINE SHOPPING FOR MY SONS BIRTHDAY AND WANTED TO SAY THIS SAME WIGGLES BIG RED CAR IS $12.22 CHEAPER SOME WHERE ELSE. I LOVE TOYSRUS BUT, THEY ARE A LITTLE HIGHER PRICED ON SOME OF THEIR MERCHANDISE.

My 2 year old loves this car! It wasn't too difficult to assemble-took me about 15 minutes. I ordered it from walmart.com because the shipping was cheaper. He loves to ride it all over the place. He has no trouble getting in and out of it. I am going to purchase the little tikes gas pump-there is a place in the back of the car where the gas pump nozzle can fit in.

My 2 year old son loves The Wiggles and I just had to get this car for him. It was pretty easy to assemble. He rides around in it every single day. Well worth the money we paid for it!

i recently read all of the reviews for Wiggles the big red ride-on car, and i was very excited to purchase it. unlike the other reviews, i did not have a problem with the shipping. one must expect a higher shipping charge for such a large item. i am very satisfied with my purchase and so are my kids.

Last Christmas I ordered this car for my 2 year old, and was a tad bit skeptical that he would actually use it long term. However, since he has loved cars since 4 months of age, I figured I'd give it a try. At first, he only sat in it with a look of ecstasy on his face, then as he got older and more coordinated, he started "driving" around the house. Now, he zips around the house fast as can be, takes sharp corners without knocking anything over or dinging up the walls, and can even drive down the hall backwards. He has played with it every single day since it arrived under the Christmas tree. I was even able to put this car together by myself (and I am horrible with following instructions). My son is big (over forty pounds at almost 3, and tall too) but I predict he will actually fit into this car until age 5.
