Here's the third toe-tapping collection of songs from the Australian kids' group the Wiggles. Quickly described as the Monkees for the Barney set, these popular singers will keep your little ones moving about with their collection of original songs and standards. It's unfortunate the group that packed in audiences in its 1999-2000 tour of America only has two songs recorded in concert; the bulk of the 15 songs are done on sets with plenty of youngsters sharing the stage with the rainbow-colored quartet. Whether running around the beach ("Having Fun at the Beach") or doing a little "Feet of Flames"-lite ("Bucket of Dew"), the Wiggles' infectious brand of bright, energetic numbers, combined with visits from sidekicks Wags the Dog and Captain Feathersword, makes for sunny entertainment. --Doug Thomas

5.0 out of 5 stars A classic in children's video, May 27, 2000

I think the main reason why this video is getting such mixed reviews is because it's an older video. The production values, admittedly, are not as slick as Wiggle Time & Yummy Yummy; however, Wake Up Jeff is 2 years older than these two others. TV shows change their look as they mature, and the Wiggles are no different in that respect. At any rate my 18-month old daughter loves all 3 videos, and Wake Up Jeff has now placed the Wiggles way ahead of Barney, which I personally am thankful for :) She loves to dance and jump around as the Wiggles do, and I love to see her remember the actions to her favorite songs. Way to go to these upbeat, creative, and rather active guys from Down Under! I can't wait to see more!

My daughter sent one of my granddaughters a copy of this video directly from Australia a couple of years ago and it was an instant hit. Dorothy the Dinosaur and Wags the Dog are particular favorites, and Captain Feathersword, the pirate whose sword has a large fluffy feather instead of a blade. The music is lively and the children love to dance to it. Romp Bomp a Stomp and Henry's Underwater Big Band were great hits. The Wiggles are full of silly fun but don't talk down to kids or resort to sentimentality. The sets and costumes have a happy home-made look to them. A definite hit with the preschool set, good non-violent fun. It was their absolute favorite video.

Our daugther loves the Wiggles videos and we own all three of the ones currently available. However this is not their best one. If you are going to purchase just one of these I'd recommend Wiggle Time.
