A classic in children's video,

This review is from: The Wiggles: Wake Up Jeff! - 15 "Get Up and Dance!" Songs (VHS Tape)
I think the main reason why this video is getting such mixed reviews is because it's an older video. The production values, admittedly, are not as slick as Wiggle Time & Yummy Yummy; however, Wake Up Jeff is 2 years older than these two others. TV shows change their look as they mature, and the Wiggles are no different in that respect. At any rate my 18-month old daughter loves all 3 videos, and Wake Up Jeff has now placed the Wiggles way ahead of Barney, which I personally am thankful for :) She loves to dance and jump around as the Wiggles do, and I love to see her remember the actions to her favorite songs. Way to go to these upbeat, creative, and rather active guys from Down Under! I can't wait to see more!

My daughter sent one of my granddaughters a copy of this video directly from Australia a couple of years ago and it was an instant hit. Dorothy the Dinosaur and Wags the Dog are particular favorites, and Captain Feathersword, the pirate whose sword has a large fluffy feather instead of a blade. The music is lively and the children love to dance to it. Romp Bomp a Stomp and Henry's Underwater Big Band were great hits. The Wiggles are full of silly fun but don't talk down to kids or resort to sentimentality. The sets and costumes have a happy home-made look to them. A definite hit with the preschool set, good non-violent fun. It was their absolute favorite video.

Our daugther loves the Wiggles videos and we own all three of the ones currently available. However this is not their best one. If you are going to purchase just one of these I'd recommend Wiggle Time.

I've been watching The Wiggles video with my baby since she was born 11 months ago, every night! At first I though Toot Toot! was the best one, but as we watched Wakeup Jeff more and more it grew on me and my baby. It is a little older and less polished then the other tapes, filmed in 1997, but it is the tape that shows the most dancing children in every song! The songs all are superb too. There are no pauses either with the annoying Magic tricks they like to do in this tape. It is non-stop dancing singing fun that my baby claps and "wiggles" to non-stop. The Wiggles is the only thing that soothes her every night so she can be ready to fall asleep for bed- nothing else works. And after 11 months of watching them every night neither my husband nor myself are sick of them. This is perhaps the best one in the series and we have them all, even Dance Party!

Bought this video for my 2yr old based on another review. It has bypassed Wiggle Time and Yummy Yummy as her favorite, although she still loves them too. She thinks it's better than Barney and Blues Clues. She love to Wake Up Jeff ! A must for anyone with young children.

We already owned Yummy Yummy and Wiggle Time (which were tremendous hits with every 2 - 4 year old on the block) before we bought this video. I hesitated to buy it because of the mixed reviews, but decided to take a chance anyway. I must say it was worth it! My daughter (a 2 year old) and the boy next door (a 2 1/2 year old) always ask for "Wake up Jeff." They even participate with the segments that aren't music - they both "pretend to be statues" all the time now and know that one should say "wiggle waggle" to make Jeff appear. The songs are a lot of fun and "Having Fun at the Beach" has lots of great advice for protecting our skin in the sun (which is really helpful now that it is summer time). I did not know there were songs after the credits until one day we let it play past the credits - usually we have to rewind to see it again (and again and again). This video would not have been my first choice of all of their videos, but it sure seems to be my daughter's first choice.

My three year old twin sons, Julio and Jarda have recently been converted to this wonderful , new and excitng group for children. When I first laid eyes on these magical Australian kid superstars, I could not believe the energy and fun they produced! Immediately, my children began to wiggle like worms to the " Wake Up Jeff" video. The upbeat tunes had them dancing around our living room like "little LORDS OF THE DANCES!"The Wake up Jeff video is worth sharing with your little ones,we all love the Irish dancing and songs, well done Wiggles!

Wake up Jeff is the 4th Wiggles video we have purchased for our almost 3 year old son, Sean. He LOVES wake up Jeff. The songs are fun..and he loves to scream WAKE UP JEFF! My husband and I find ourselves humming along to the songs. True,it's not as "high tech" as some of the new ones, but that doesn't matter to kids. As long as the songs are fun and Jeff is as goofy as ever, we're happy! We also like the live show part at the end. I love the Wiggles! They make us all get up and dance!

Disappointing,

After a much anticipated wait, my 16 month old and I found "Wake Up Jeff" disappointing. It lacks the musical energy of the first two videos and barely holds her attention. While the characters are all familiar, the songs and skits are not as "catchy". Also, at a mere 37 minutes, this video is over almost before it begins! :-(
