5.0 out of 5 stars Wiggly Fun!
We saw the "Quack Quack" song on the beginning of a Barney movie and loved it so much I purchased this video. It's terrific! My 16-month old daughter loves it and so does the rest of the family (my 7 year old daughter, my husband and I). She dances and claps and says "Baw" everytime the ball comes on between songs. 3.0 out of 5 stars Monkey Dance is on the other Wiggles video!
The promos at the beginning of the Barney videos are wrong. The "monkey dance" and the "hot potato dance" they claim are on the "Wiggle Time" video are not...those songs are actually on the "Yummy Yummy" video. Your children will probably still like this one, but check out the other one, too. My daughter (22 months) can't get...

I find myself singing or humming the tunes even when the movie is over - they are very catchy and a nice change to the Barney songs I've heard a billion times in the last 7 years (not that we don't like Barney too)! I will enjoy watching my daughter grow with this tape and learn to follow along with the dance steps and songs. She has already learned how to do the quack, quack and cocka-doodle-doo motions from the repetition at the beginning of the Barney movie. It's too cute! I HIGHLY recommend this for young children of all ages. I'm sure it would be great in a daycare setting too - the more the merrier!

5.0 out of 5 stars Not one of the kids sat still ! ! !, December 27, 1999

On the advice of a friend, SANTA brought the Wiggletime video for my two daughters (ages 2 1/2 and 5) as a Christmas gift. I had never heard of the Wiggles before. Truth is, I bought it from Amazon.com because I could use the gift certificate and figured I had nothing to lose but postage . . . WELL . . . I've returned to purchase the Wiggles other video (Yummy, Yummy) to keep and a couple Wiggles videos to give as gifts.

We had seven children here the day after Christmas (boys and girls) ages 2, 2 1/2, 4 1/2, 5, 5, 7 and 10 and every single one of them LOVED this video. They were on their feet the entire time it was on -- even the slower parts -- and didn't quit dancing and laughing during the faster songs. The day after our party, my children woke up and asked for the video first thing. They are up and dancing nearly the entire time that the video is on. I'm purchasing the second to gear up for winter when many days are too cold to get out and get some exercise. The kids will have fun and stay fit - I think I might have to join them.

I admit I thought it was bit goofy, but SANTA didn't bring it for me. The audience for which it was intended loves it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Wiggles Video by far!, February 12, 2004

My nearly 3 year old son is a HUGE wiggles fan. He's also got a learning delay, and rarely talks. One of his first words was "wiggles" and to this day he speaks that word often (his delay means he often learns a word then "loses" it).

He knows the moves to the dances, especially 'Hot Potato' and 'Captain Feathersword'. If moms and dads get up and dance with the children, it makes for a good workout. We call it "Wigglecizing". ;)

What is even better, is that after they grow on you, you can stand to watch the videos over and over again, something I've been unable to do even with Disney movies (but especially with Barney!).

Sure, they're a bunch of dancing adult men looking a bit silly, but who cares?

We also bought this video because of a trailer on a Barney tape (with the quack quack song). We never realized what we were in for! Our daughter, almost 2 years old (22 months), LOVES this tape. She can't get enough of the Wiggles She already knows all their names, who wears what color shirt, all the songs and words, and most of the dance steps. She really likes the pirate for some reason -- she hasn't stopped talking about the pirate (and Jeff, the one who sleeps alot) for many weeks now.

The bottom line on this tape is: every Wiggles song on the tape is catchy and fun, most toddlers will love it. And it is fun to do the dances with the kids, so it does sort of act as a good workout tape. Those guys sure get a workout doing all those steps! Buy the tape, your kids will love it and you'll be supporting safe, fun TV. I'd be shocked if any parent didn't like this tape -- or if any kid didn't have fun watching it!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Wiggles-Wiggle time, December 5, 1999

This review is from: The Wiggles - Wiggle Time [VHS] (VHS Tape)
My 3 1/2 year old daughter flipped when she saw the intro to the Wiggles on the Barney-Night Before Christmas video. We didn't even get to Barney, she insisted on rewinding the intro over and over and over. I went everywhere looking for this video and had no success. I then decided if anyone would have this video it would be Amazon, and I was right. We have now had the Wiggles video for three days and it been playing nonstop. The great thing about this video is that my daughter really interacts with the video. She answers the questions and dances with the cast on the tape. My daughter loves to watch other children more than moscot characters and this video has it. The colors are bright and the songs are so easy to sing along with. This video is the best investment I have made yet. I can hardly wait for the Live show to come to Orange County. The second Wiggles video will definitely be purchased for Christmas. I give credit to four gentlemen who devote their career to children. You guys deserve a hand.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for 14-months+, February 4, 2000
By
This review is from: The Wiggles - Wiggle Time [VHS] (VHS Tape)
My 16 month old has a shelf with a wide range of various video's from which he can choose from. He thinks the wiggles are the best thing to watch, constantly choosing the wiggles to watch while I get ready in the morning. He dances and sings with them.

There is not much acting, or change of scenery in the video. Four musicians sing and play music in the video. There are also people dressed as an octopus, a dog, a pirate, or a dinosaur. Despite the lack of fancy graphics, cartoons, junk food, and the low overall quality of video production, IT IS A GREAT VIDEO. My son wants to hear songs and see dancing in a context he can understand, this video does this. He is also fussy about the music he likes and the Wiggles can REALLY SING. The fact that it is simple actually works in the video's favor.

I recommend this video to parents of 1-5 year olds despite the American Association of Pediatricians recommending against all television and video use for children under 2. Singing songs does seem to be of value at this age and this tape is good clean fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wiggle time Rocks at our house!!, March 11, 2001

I was very suprpised to see negative reviews of this video! My almost 3 year old son LOVES this tape..and all the Wiggles tapes that we own. I do have to admit, the first time a friend brought her daughters Wiggle tape over, I was like, THIS IS WEIRD! But, the KIDS love it, and my son kept asking for it. We love the Duck song, and all the silly skits and songs. They do tend to be rather addictive, and all my friends at work who have kids and I tend to sing the songs during the day. ha!! I think the Wiggles are great, yes, they are goofy, but most kids are goofy too! My son, Sean, (almost 3) CRACKS up laughing. He loves Captain Feathersword. He loves all the characters and he's learning the words and the dance moves, which helps his memory and coordination. Yes-the Wiggles are GOOFY, but if you're kids are anything like my son (and all his friends) they will LOVE this tape, and all the other Wiggles tapes. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Putting the kid's energy to good use, January 6, 2000
This review is from: The Wiggles - Wiggle Time [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I purchased both Wiggles videos and my kids ages 6,5, and 3 LOVE them. When they get restless in the house and can't go out I pop in the videos to help them release some energy in a positive way. I much prefer this to the blank stare of watching meaningless junk on TV. My three year old asks for the Wiggles every time it is her time to pick, and her brothers have just as much fun as her wiggling around. I especially like the way The Wiggles get down on the level of the kids and explain some of the movements and songs. I am a huge overgrown kid and have a ton of fun trying to dance through the whole video, it requires being in pretty good shape to keep up with them through the whole video!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wiggles are a hit, February 8, 2001

This review is from: The Wiggles - Wiggle Time [VHS] (VHS Tape)
We love Wiggle Time at our house. I bought the video for my 18 month old daughter for Christmas and she loves it, as do her 3,4 and 12 year-old cousins. My husband and I also enjoy it, which is a plus because videos end up being repeated over and over at our house. The catchy songs have us all up and dancing. My daughter can do the hot potato and cockadoodle doo, as well as the pirate dance after only a few times watching! The first thing she thinks of when she wakes up in the morning is to watch the Wiggles! I like that it is real people and not just puppets, although there are a few puppets in the routines. The video is divided into many short segments each with a theme and a song and dance to go along with it. The organization gives it a logic that a little person can understand. My daughter even loves the bouncing ball that comes out to introduce each segment. The portion that is a recording of one of their live shows really gets her excited. I have also bought some Sesame Street vidoes for her but given a choice she always picks Wiggle Time. Other productions just don't hold her attention like this one, and I like that she stands up to watch and dances around. I have ordered every other Wiggles video that is available!
