A Fun Wiggles Video,
By Deanna Hockey (Sydney, Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Wiggles - Wiggly Safari [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I think this video sums up what the Wiggles are all about - singing fun songs for kids and having fun while they are doing it. This video features Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter as well as your Wiggle Favourites - Geoff, Murray, Anthony, Jeff, Captain Feathersword, Wags the Dog and Dorothy the Dinosaur. The Crocodile Hunter is a scream! If you have ever seen him you know that his enthusiasm for life and animals is infectious. A wonderful choice for the Wiggles to make a video with. Every song is about Australia wildlife and not only do you get to sing about it, you learn a little about the animal from the Crocodile Hunter and the Wiggles and you also get to see the animal in a very natural setting at Steve and Terri's Irwin's zoo (Australia Zoo, located on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia). I cannot recommend this video high enough, especially if your toddler is already a fan. They'll learn alot about Australian animals and have fun doing the dance moves to each songs. I have two girls - almost 3 and 18 months and they love this video! They are huge Wiggles fans. You will not be disappointed.

A Definite Must-Have for Any Wiggles Fan!,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Wiggles - Wiggly Safari [VHS] (VHS Tape)
My two-year-old son loves the Wiggles, and this video is their best yet. Leaving behind the cheesy backdrops seen in their other videos, they head outdoors to the Australia Zoo to visit with Steve, Terri, Bindi and the animals. The animal costumes worn by the children and by Captain Feathersword are great, and my son loves watching the characters interact with all of the animals (dolphins, kuckaburras, koalas, snakes, camels and many more). The dialogue between Steve Irwin and the Wiggles also adds an educational element that is lacking in most of the other Wiggles videos. The songs are so catchy that we've ordered the CD so that he can sing along in the car as well!

At first, I wasn't sure how my 21-month-old daughter would like this DVD, as it's quite a bit different from the Wiggles' television show. However, she loves it! It holds her attention even better than the TV show, and she sits as if in a trance when it's on. This DVD is set outdoors, at the Australian Zoo, and features the Wiggles and the Steve Irwin family interacting with various animals. The songs are probably the best of any of their videos-I find myself humming them alot! Also featured are the four dancers (two men and two women) that appear in most of the Wiggles Dvds-they're such a pleasure to watch, and genuinely seem to be having fun.Overall, I highly recommend this DVD! It's enjoyable for my daughter, and I enjoy it too!

The Wiggles Keep Getting Better!,
By Judy "judoratheexplorer" (Long Island NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Wiggles - Wiggly Safari [VHS] (VHS Tape)
My 2 children, ages 8 & 6, & I are HUGE fans of The Wiggles since December 2000. We have every Wiggles video that's available in the US & we couldn't wait for Wiggly Safari to come out! The Wiggles just keep getting better & better! The music is rocking & my kids & I are dancing!! My daughter does her version of "ballet" to Butterflies Flit, she's 6. We enjoy The Croc Hunter & family & seeing the Australia Zoo. We love looking at all the animals & the Kookaburra cracks them up & they imitate the laugh all the time! They love watching Captain Feathersword swimming with the dolphins & being his silly self! Everyone looks like they're having a great time singing & dancing (it must be hard to dance in a zoo!) & they're teaching children & adults as well about different animals & to make sure that you are careful & don't touch them because they're wild, in a fun & positive way. Anthony, Greg, Murray & Jeff have done another excellent job writing great songs! Good on ya mates! As usual I have more Wiggles songs stuck in my head all day long & at times I want to dance but I don't think they'd appreciate my singing & dancing at work! We also love watching the out takes at the end! Another great job by The Wiggles!

For someone who is an avid reader, my life changed dramatically sixteen months ago at the birth of my first grandchild. Instead of reviewing some terrific book, I find myself reviewing my first children's video. Grandma got introduced to the Wiggles last month. I find myself compulsively looking for Wiggles videos we don't own. Why is this a new passion? Simple answer is my grandchild adores them. The Wiggles - Wiggly Safari is the latest one we have added to the collection and probably my favorite. It features Big Steve Irwin, the crocodile hunter whom I have seen on TV and think is hilarious. There are songs, dances, and animals galore. The scenery is bright and there is some action going on constantly. Along with the boys from Australia, come the sidekicks such as Dorothy, Wags, Henry, and my favorite Captain Feathersword. This is a cute video. My only complaint is I find myself humming some of the songs, which is damaging to my reputation as a tough high school teacher! It maybe not be as educational as Sesame Street (which my grandson refuses to watch) but it is just as entertaining. For something to entertain the little ones and give parents and grandparents a much-deserved break, you can't go wrong with this video.

As an Australian, I must say this video is near the best Wiggles video made! Everyone is there, the Wiggles, Dorothy, Wags, Henry, Capatin Feathersword. Then there is also the crocodile hunter and ALL the Australian animals in abundance. This video is great for people living in the States to see our fantastic Country & animals! Highly recommend, my 2 year old just sits there & watches & dances and acts out with the Wiggles for 50 minutes. My son LOVES the Wiggles :)

My Family Loves This Video!,
By Rosemary Grosse (Brooklyn, New York United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Wiggles - Wiggly Safari [VHS] (VHS Tape)
My entire family, including my senior citizen parents and my three nephews(ages 6, 4 and 2)loves this video. Wiggly Safari was filmed at the Australia Zoo and each song is about a different Australian animal. Some songs, like Kookaburra and Cocky Want a Cracker, are upbeat and energetic, while others, like Koala la la and Butterflies Flit are melodic and soothing. There's plenty of Wiggly humor throughout(for example, Anthony getting doused by a fake tidal wave) and the video is just a whole lot of fun. My nephews love to act out the songs, especially Snakes, and the 4 year old eagerly announced that he wanted to be a Kookaburra for Halloween(he's since decided to be Superman). The songs are catchy and I always have one of them stuck in my head after watching the video. The Irwins were enthusiastic and fun, and Bindi is adorable! The only criticisms I might be able to come up with are that the two songs that were filmed at a concert seem a little like filler to me and that the songs were listed in the wrong order on the packaging. Otherwise, this video is a strong effort by the Wiggles and my nephews request it over and over! I love it!

I have all The Wiggles tapes. This one is the funniest of them all. The Wiggles are located outside at the Australian Zoo the entire time. They play with Steve the Crocodile Hunter and dance and sing with him too. He adds humor to the show and introduces many animals from Cockatoos to Kangaroos. They do not show all the animals at the zoo, but they do show quite a few. My 26-month-old really likes this one. The songs are very good and fun! The dancing is non-existent since they no longer have a contract with the Donna Halloran School of Dance. Their new Chorographer is the old Dorothy the Dinosaur Leanne Ashley. She herself is a fabulous dancer, but as of yet, can't get The Wiggles or the children to dance. With the great outdoors, the fun songs about animals and the cute skits between The Wiggles and Steve Irwin, this is a smash hit! They really did seem to genuinely have a ball filming this one, and their enthusiasm and happiness pours through every second of the film making it very special and sure to make your toddler smile! Now if they can only get Leanne Halloran (Officer Peoples) back to do the Chorography they'd be perfect!

Wild and Wiggly,
By Elizabeth Bennett (Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Wiggles - Wiggly Safari (DVD)
I have to say that we love the Wiggles at this house... so I give them 3 stars for just being the Wiggles. However, we don't like watching this video. The pace of the editing is way too frantic... frenetic even. My son, who is just 2, says, "Turn it off" or "No Wiggles", and promptly leaves the room. I'd watch it... but he just doesn't want to. Why did they do this? Could the answer be that some of the dancing moves are not up to the Wiggles standard (on songs such as "Cocky Want a Cracker" and "Kookaburra Chorus") and thus, the flashing images are meant to make up for unimaginative choreography (sorry guys, just the way I see it)? Now, to be fair to the 'guys', we are not a TV family. We watch videos because I believe that the hectic presentation of most TV is harmful for young children (and many children's videos are edited at a slower pace). For families who don't mind watching television programming, this DVD will probably not present any problems. And, I'm sure when my child is older, he'll be able to watch this and will probably enjoy it. But not right now. We like Steve Irwin. We like the animals. We like the Wiggles. We like the songs. We just don't like the crazy editing.

The Best Wiggles Video Yet!,
By
This review is from: The Wiggles - Wiggly Safari [VHS] (VHS Tape)
How can you go wrong with the combination of Wiggles and the Crocodile Hunter? This video is by far my two year old's favorite. We have every Wiggles video, and this one is so wonderful. Not only are the songs all fun, but the video is educational. Between the songs the kids learn facts about the different animals featured. The entire video (all but two live songs from a concert) is taped at the Australia Zoo, so it is outdoors instead of in a studio. We get to see everything from Captain Feathersword swimming with dolphins to Jeff sleeping with a cuddly koala. I think everyone should add this video to their Wiggles collection!
