Who knew a sock could be so fabulous? A friend picked these up for me to use when hiking Mt. Fuji and I never wanted to take them off. They were fabulous for the hike and I wear them all the time for every use with any type of shoe (hiking, biking, running, dog walking, teaching, lounging, clogs, tennis shoes, hiking shoes, etc.) and I wear them at least twice a week, I've had them since August 09 and they're still fabulous. I live abroad, but when I came home for vacation I made sure to pick up 3 more pairs, 1 isn't enough and I'm worried 4 wont be enough either...

I will have to admit when I first saw these socks I wasn't sure they were worth the money, I kept thinking I could buy a pack of socks for what one pair of these cost. Well even though that statement is true what I didnt know was how good these socks were, they are worth every penny you will pay. They are great from the time you first put them on until you take them off, if you are going to do alot of walking then these socks are for you. Pay the money you will not be dissapointed, best wearing, feeling socks I have ever worn.

I bought these socks for walking every day. I developed my first blister after walking for months. I decided it makes no sense to spend $140 for walking shoes and put them on over cheap socks which do not fit that well and do not control moisture.

I have had no more problem with blisters. The socks fit like a second skin. They do not bunch up like regular socks. My feet stay perfectly dry no matter how hot it is.

I got these socks for an 8 hour spelunking trip this past weekend in Tumbling Wild Rock Cave. I have had good experiences with Smart Wool brand socks in the past, but none of them were Amazon Prime eligible, so I went with these instead (partially on the basis of the excellent reviews).

The night that I got these, I decided to wear them around just to test them out. The seams in the toes are delightfully non-existent; I couldn't feel a seam at all. As I took them off to go to bed, however, I noticed a significant amount of wear of the bottom of the socks. I had only worn them to walk to the bathroom once that night, but it wasn't a huge deal, particularly given the price being so much lower than Smart Wool products I had grown to love.

During the course of the trip I stepped in puddles well past my ankle (I suppose that'd be a pool, not a puddle) and wore brand-new, and thus un-broken in, boots. My feet felt dry almost immediately and I never felt discomfort from the socks. The terrain was so bad and the climbing was fairly intense, but my feet never felt sweaty nor cold in the 58 degree cave.

Overall, I would definitely recommend these, but probably not for wearing around the house.

unique socks in that they are quarter length, but heavier than the others I've owned.

    occasionally provides massaging sensation.

    *edit*
Six months later and I'm about to order another pair of these.
The same pair I bought before are still in good shape.
I prefer these socks, they are very durable.
I know that after a nice long run during the hot summer months that my feet will remain blister free - these socks are a big reason why,

This is the first time i've bought socks other than your cheap garden variety hanes multipack.
The brand name varies but you get the idea.
They are comfortable socks and that is the only reason i'm rating them as high as i did.

According to the sizing chart these XL should fit someone wearing a shoe size of 12-15. I wear a size 14 shoe but i'm actually in between sizes. 13.5 would be more accurate.
And these socks barely fit. I mean just barely. If they shrink even a tiny bit after laundering, they will be too small. Just for reference, my foot is exactly 11.5 inches at it's longest point.

I bought these socks hoping they would help keep my feet cooler while i work. (I live in Canada and it isn't warm here at the time of this review.) I work indoors in temps of only 65 degrees and i wear mesh running shoes.
You'd expect something with the word 'cool' in it's name wouldn't be warm but these socks make my feet sweat! Ok, my feet sweat to some degree in any socks but these were worse than the cheap socks i'm used to. Cool-lite? umm... no.

To sum up, these socks might be worth the cost if your feet are no bigger than 11.5 inches, and you live somewhere cold..... like Alaska.
Otherwise, you might find it hard to justify the much higher price.
These are easily two times the price of any other socks i've worn and although they are decent socks, i wouldn't buy them again at current prices unless they last twice as long as the other brands.

This is a great sock. I'm generally a fan of Wigwam, but this is my favorite sock for running. Very durable and well made, and I like the availability of the X-large size (difficult to find at brick & mortar stores).

I owned 8 pairs of these Wigwam socks which I wore daily for nearly 10 years before they began to show signs of wear. I loved my old socks and didn't mind the expense of buying 4 new pairs to replace the worst of those that were starting to go. However, the new ones are not the same quality. After only 3 months they are already showing the same signs of wear as the 10 year old socks - and I haven't even been wearing them every day like I did their predecessors. Don't buy these socks.
