Got neuropathy and looking for excellent moisture wicking?,
By
This review is from: Wigwam Men's Diabetic Strider Sock (Apparel)
Got neuropathy and you're looking for a comfortable pair of non-binding socks for better circulation? At the same time you're looking for socks with excellent moisture wicking properties (cuts down on blisters), and you'd like a little padding on the soles? Chances are that you'll want to try out a pair of these Wigwam socks.I confess that I've always preferred the feel of cotton or wool socks. However cotton tends to have lousy moisture wicking properties, and I've recently decided that my lower legs are sensitive to wool. Wigwam makes the only circulatory friendly socks I've found that are non-wool, with moisture wicking fibers (45% Olefin, 30% X20® Acrylic, 25% Stretch Nylon), and have a little padding on the soles. Patented X20® Acrylic repels moisture and has the added plus of exhibiting antimicrobial properties. Wigwam makes another pair of non-binding socks that are a wool blend and (I'm guessing) likely have superior padding on the sole: the Wigwam Wool Diabetic Walker. The sock is 62% patented "Wool Dri-release" (88% Polyester, 12% Wool), and 38% Stretch Nylon. If you have no problem wearing merino wool socks, then you might want to try a pair of them instead or also. I'll probably eventually break down and buy a pair and see if I've actually got a problem with wool. Another plus of buying Wigwam is that they are made in the USA (Sheboygan, to be exact).

Beat all the rest for sensitive feet,
By Fred "mrdata22" (Sacramento, CA United States) - See all my reviews

I tested this sock against over 2 dozen other brands and styles for sensitive feet (diabetic and otherwise). This sock came out number one because it did not bind my leg or fall down. These are not compression socks. They were comfortable to wear all day. Other socks were so thin, they developed holes after the first washing. These crew socks were true to size. I have a size 12, 4E flat foot. I re-ordered the Large (sizes 9 - 12) because it fit better than the extra large (sizes 12-15). The extra large was too loose and fell down during the day. The Large size was perfect for me. Stayed in place without binding my leg. After repeated washings, they are still soft without any holes. Both the black and white are excellent and identical in fit and wear. Bonus feature: With "Wigwam" written on the side, I can keep my white socks separated from my wife's socks.

Great socks for everyday use!,

I had problems with my previous socks because they left a mark in my calf as I had to wear them for +8 hours a day in a sedentary work (mostly seated the whole time). My therapist recommended this type of socks to avoid blood congestion and swelling and they have done the job. They're very comfortable, cozy and hold their own for everyday use. I must buy at a great price.

There are many problems that diabetic's face daily. One of these problems should not be their socks. Nor should diabetic face scams by merchants claiming to solve their aches and pains, at an elevate price. This sock does nothing. The sock is poorly made out of the cheapest material and it will not stay up, as such the marketing relies on suckers like me for a one time purchase. if you are a diabetic or if you even wear socks, save your money on this one.

These socks have been great in that they are easier to put on and get off than most other socks have been. They launder well and we hope they last a long, long time. Would recommend them!

'Slouch' socks,

Wigwam is such a good brand & the high price really made me think the quality must be great. The socks will not stay up. They are like the 'slouch' socks some kids like to wear. The sizing is correct but he can't use a rubber band or those 'sock suspenders' to keep them up. We were disappointed with them & glad I only bought the 1 pair to try first. We have found it hard to find good diabetic white socks. We will keep looking, I guess. These were not the 'best', in our opinion.

Appears to be well made but a tad thin all around- could use more heel cushion too. As for wear and tear, time will tell. Think I'll check out the db socks sold by Walgreens. They have them in black now.

Before I started getting swelling problems in my feet, I got all my socks from REI which included Wigwam hikers. I really liked the Wigwam brand, how they fit and held up over time. I was glad to find that Wigwam makes these socks specifically for people with swelling problems in their feet. I got a couple pair to try them out and they are nice looking, well made as the others and comfortable to wear. They are easy and smooth to put on too, if you are someone who has a hard time bending over or trying to pull on regular socks that are tight going on and are hard to pull up. These socks are comfortable to wear, have a regular crew length and the tops do not fall down. They are loose-fitting to be comfortable and not aggravate swelling. I am glad Wigwam makes these so I didn't have to search that hard for a quality sock that meets my new needs.

Bought these for my husband. He says they are the most comfortable socks he has, and we've tried lots. After buying one, I went back and bought several more.
