This review is from: Wii 4X Quad Charge Station (Accessory)
I don't know why it is so difficult for a company to make a decent charging station for the Wii. In fact, I don't know why Nintendo doesn't just make one themselves. In my opinion the only "good" Wii remote charger on the market right now is the Nyko dual charger. It is a shame that they do not make a quad charger.
I bought this Penguin United quad charger based off another review stating that it had good battery life etc. The battery life does seem to be pretty good but I don't expect these batteries to have a very long extended life expectancy. The entire system is very cheap feeling and the batteries are so light weight that it almost seems as if there is nothing inside. Just trying to place the remote in the charging station is a chore in of itself. The opening is very tight and if you do not position the remote perfectly it will not charge. The indicator light are not very clear either. The instructions say 1 light is 25%, 4 lights is 100% charged etc. However, with no remotes in the charging stations all 4 lights are illuminated (as well as an annoying blue ring of light...) Why do all these accessory companies feel the need to add an annoying blue light to everything they make!? You shouldn't have to struggle for 10 - 15 seconds per remote just to verify that it is making a proper contact. You should only need to drop it in and let it start charging. I just want a good quality charging station for the Wii, is that so much to ask? I am definitely returning this charging station and buying a second Nyko dual charger even if it means I have to give up another power port...

When they worked, they were fine. The batteries seemed to hold a charge for a really long time. But after using them only a few times in a few months, suddenly all the battery packs started exhibiting a spotty working behavior. What I mean is, even though they were fully charged, the controller would suddenly turn off without warning, in the middle of gameplay. It would then immediately turn back on, but every few minutes, it would cut out again, usually killing me wherever I was in my game (and as you can imagine, frustrating the bejeezus out of me!). I tried a few different wiimotes, and it was the same on all of them, and it was with all 4 battery packs. I had to switch back to my regular AA rechargeables, which work perfectly; they just don't have the convenience of charging through the wiimote. But at least they work consistently. I would not recommend these to anyone! I wish I could send mine back! Save your money and invest in regular AA Rechargeables.

Super easy to use, wonderful quad charger with li-ion batteries!,

This review is from: Wii 4X Quad Charge Station (Accessory)
I am very happy with the purchase. I have a NYKO dual charger before which mainly has three problems--the touch point between the NYKO charger and base is difficulty to put in right position to charge(this problem can make one mad), and the second problem is nearly all NYKO batteries are NiMH, not Li-ion, which means you have to run out of power of the batteries before you charge them, otherwise the NiMH batteries are easy to be dead--which called "memory effect"; and the third problem of NiMH batteries is you have to charge them for very long time before you can use them. So I kept looking for Li-ion batteries and charger for my wii console and found this one. I really like this quad charger with Li-ion batteries, the Li-ion batteries' weight is only half of that of NiMH ones, and can last very long. These Li-ion batteries are very easy to use and I just asked the kids to put remotes on the charger every time after they end playing the wii games, the led indicator can tell the charge status. I have this quad charger with Li-ion batteries for over two months and I am very happy with the purchase.
