4.0 out of 5 stars Best for Wii Fit
These gloves work best for the wii fit boxing challenge--not any game where you have to KO someone.

Sounds like a good idea right? With the Wii, there are many customizable attachments to add to the controllers for that added touch of realism e.g. Links crossbow, golf clubs, etc...why not boxing gloves?

Sounds like a good idea right? With the Wii, there are many customizable attachments to add to the controllers for that added touch of realism e.g. Links crossbow, golf clubs, etc...why not boxing gloves?

The problem is that these are basically bag striking gloves with a pouch sewn in and foam inserts. I noticed the following problems that this quick "port" causes;
- The glove fit tight (like striking gloves should) but that means if/when you clinch your fist the gloves will depress one of many controller buttons which of course can do things like turn your Wii off to exiting the game.
- No IR window for the sensors. The glove dramatically reduce the range and accuracy of the controllers due to the damping effect of the gloves outer shell
- No access to any control buttons. Hope you like only jabbing cause accessing that coveted "z" button for the knock punch just ain't gonna happen.
Most of these problems can be fixed with an Xacto knife, but I decided just to sell them on eBay along with the ultra sucky boxing game I bought with it (Showtime Boxing).

2.0 out of 5 stars Not so Good, December 24, 2007
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Wii Boxing Gloves (Electronics)
The glove interferes with the IR of the remote and slows down your control of the game. All they have done is take a cheap pair of gloves and cut the padding.

A few minutes with a knife and a sewing machine greatly improved the product, but isnt something you should have to do to make it work.

Without the modifications you constantly have to take the remote back out, which is a cumbersome process. The controls should have been made accessible for the original product.

With the modifications, this is a fun accessory.

1.0 out of 5 stars not practical, July 6, 2008

Purchased as a Christmas gift for my children to use with Wii boxing game. The gloves were fairly useless. When wearing them, you are unable to press any of the controls on the controllers as they are tucked into the back of the boxing glove ( on the back of your hand). My kids have used them twice ( tops!). don't bother. Boxing game is more fun without them.

1.0 out of 5 stars Gloves for Wii Sports boxing only, July 16, 2008
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Wii Boxing Gloves (Electronics)
If you have a boxing game that requires that you push different buttons for different punches, these gloves and all the other red and black gloves aren't going to help you. You can't reach the controller to push the needed button for say, an uppercut. And, when the match is over and you want a rematch, you have to take off the gloves, pull out the remote to work the menu. Pain in the behind.

1.0 out of 5 stars What's the point?, December 26, 2008
The controlers don't fit in the available space? You have to fish the controler wire through a hole....not easy for kids in a rush. The only people that would buy these are the clueless suckers-like me!

Ordered to go with boxing game. Found boxing gloves not useble with game need to hold remote and nunchuck in hand, not on back of hand in glove. This was a waste of money. I have no use for the gloves.

You cannot push any of the buttons needed while the wii remotes are in these gloves. Even cutting stategic holes in the gloves at the remote buttons would not really help because some buttons need to be pushed WHILE punching!

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy these., December 21, 2008

Seriously, just don't. Sure, you see a couple of three, four and even a five star review on this page. Those people are objectively incorrect. This is a terrible product and anyone who thinks otherwise is broken on the inside. If you pay money for these gloves, you are contributing to the downfall of western civilization. Seriously, spend this money to get your kid a subscription to National Geographic or something.

1.0 out of 5 stars No window for the controllers...INSANE!!!!!, December 30, 2008
there are no windows for the controller. there is no way for the signal to get from the glove to the game. I saw the way that it should be designed at J&R music world. I thought I did not know how to use them. DUH!!! they cant work. I realized on the 30th day. i hope i get my refund. the product is defective.

1.0 out of 5 stars bad bad bad, December 27, 2008
Great idea just wish some one would have done a test first. Nunchuk would fit if it didn't have a toggle, just barely. No way to access the buttons on the controller once you put it in the glove. Finger spaces to far apart for small hands and medium hands barely fit with the controller in the glove. They obviously never tried putting a controller in the glove, just came up with the idea and made them. Returned mine immediately.
