I have this controller and the original white classic controller. Even with an optional Nyko kit (adds grips to classic controller), the original white classic controller felt really awkward. The black controller is a lot more PS2 like, especially with the shoulder button layout (which is a good thing). Overall, very good controller for playing older Nintendo (virtual console, gamecube) games on the Wii.

Good replacement compared to the regular classic controller. Also works flawless on US version of the Wii. Price tag is kinda high, but that is probably due to the fact that it is a imported product.

For those of you who grew up with the PS2 and Xbox this controller mimics that design and feel. The classic controller is a nice memory from the past but I like how the cord on the Japanese version extends from the outside instead of from the inside like the U.S. Classic controller. The controller feels solid and well built. I recommend this controller for anyone who's looking for an alternative to the U.S. Classic controller
