I own a PS3, Xbox 360, and a Wii and I have decided to go with the Wii version and don't regret it one bit.

Biggest advantage is power consumption. The PS3 and Xbox 360 is going to use around 180-200 watts of power during gameplay while the Wii sips on only 18 watts. That translates to spending ten times more for electricity if you were to play on the PS3 or Xbox 360 (not counting your TV, A/V system etc).

Second advantage the Wii has is the controller, turntable in this case. Like the guitar hero games for wii, all you have to do is plug in your Wii controller into the slot in the turntable and you're instantly connected. This way you don't have to buy extra batteries and you have no issues syncing your controller to the system.

Last advantage is the built in WiFi for the Wii. I don't have a wireless adapter for the xbox 360 nor an ethernet cable long enough to attach it to my router. Knowing that I might eventually purchase tracks online or play against friends, I had to go with the system that has wifi connectivity.

Disadvantages to the Wii version? The graphics of people dancing on the screen aren't as nice as it is on the PS3 or Xbox 360. Doesn't really matter to me though, the spinning record on the screen that you follow for the beats is still looks as clear as any other system.

Of course if you want to play against your friends online and they have the PS3 or xbox 360 version then that could also play a factor. Online play for the Wii isn't as refined as it is on xbox live but at least it's free.

The game itself though is just awesome. I loved it so much that I got through all the tracks in a day so I really wish they had more. The crossfader will annoy you at first because it's difficult to click it back to the neutral position but you will develop muscle memory for this and I think it adds a somewhat enjoyable challenge to the game. Also it doesn't actually have to click into the center spot to register as center on the screen so don't waste your effort on trying to get it back to exactly on the center. You can undershoot it but never overshoot it or else it might register as the direction you're moving it in.

In case you were wondering, the difference between this and the more expensive Renegade version is that the Renegade comes with a case that turns into a stand for the turntable along with a sleeker black finish on the turntable and an Eminem Jay-Z CD which isn't playable in the game.

But please, do yourself and the environment a favor by buying the Wii version of this and other games whenever possible. Save the Xbox 360 and PS3 for games like Call of Duty, Forza Motorsport, or Gran Turismo.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great way to enjoy a get together even more, November 17, 2009

I bought this bundle the other day and the first time I tried it, I played for over 2 hours, alone. Of course that was after my son and daughter were done with it, they were on it for 2 hours. The mixes are nothing short of excellent. The tutorials are both great and fun to get your feet wet in the game. Also I find it easier to scratch with the buttons on the "outside" of the turntable instead of the "inside" with my right hand used for the turntable. Trying to hold the Blue button with your ring finger with the buttons on the "inside" and scratch at the same time is a bit awkward due to the slight weight of the turntable. I prefer scratching using my index finger on the Blue button. But that's just me. Also, keep those greasy foods away! HAHA! Even sweaty fingers alone will make it a bit harder to keep the buttons pressed as you scratch on the turntable.

Pros:
- Hours and hours of fun.
- Mixes are great, whether you just listen to them in party mode or playing along.
- All ages will enjoy this game, either watching or trying it.
- Very easy learning curve.
- Varying levels of difficulty keeps everyone hooked on the game.

Cons:
- Only 1 turntable. I know, this is getting picky, but that is all I can say that is a downside to the bundle.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mediocre Game, Cheap Turntable, September 30, 2010
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Wii DJ Hero Bundle with Turntable (Video Game)
I found this to be a mediocre experience, frankly. I've owned and/or played all the variations of the Rock Band / Guitar Hero games and this doesn't stand out in the pack. Don't get me wrong, its fun at times but I see it quickly being relegated to the closet and or the nearest used games store upon completion.

Its not the controls, which while tricky at first, are easily learned using the excellent tutorials and can be quite fun. But most of the time it seems like you're just tapping three fingers to the beat and not spinning, scratching, etc. Now I dont claim to be a professional DJ, but there's something not right about tapping your fingers on a record that your supposed to be scratching, seems those three buttons should have been places elsewhere, with just a 'scratch' button on the turntable. Its just weird how they did it.

The song selection is limited but fun, but does tend to lean more towards rock and pop than to true dance and R&B music.

My biggest complaint is the turntable. It's cheap, cheap, cheap. It feels incredibly flimsy, especially on the mixer side. The crossfader feels like its going to snap off at any given moment, and as others have said there is too much dead space.

There's also compartment you're supposed to put the Wii controller in, but whether its activision or nintendo's fault, it just doesnt fit in there right. I have the new black Wii bundle, and the controller and wrist strap simply dont fit in the compartment correctly. Maybe this turntable was designed for the older thinner wrist straps, but since i have only one controller its a pain to have to take the jacket, wii motion plus and the wrist strap off to plug it inside the turntable. Why couldn't they have made it so it just syncs on it own like every other hardware console? Even with all that removed, the remote still doesnt quite fit, and it caused the hinge on the compartment to break when i tried closing it (gently I might add...the hinges on the door are incredibly thin and flimsy!).

As for scratching since there's no motor in the turntable there's no resistance, so to me the scratching feels too loose. And as mentioned, the dead space in the crossfader makes crossfader spiking more difficult then it needs to be, since its tough to recenter after the quick spikes.

Overall its different and a good starting point for what could be a decent franchise if they upgrade the hardware. For the discounted price it is these days, its at least worth a buy as a party game or something, but there's just too many limitations and flaws with the hardware that keep me from really enjoying this game thoroughly. If id have paid full price at launch i'd have been incredibly annoyed! Im sure they'll fix the issues in the next version...the first Guitar Hero had its issues too.

I got DJ Hero for my 10 yr old son and he loves it. He was able to follow the directions easily, which was a concern to me due to his young age. It is a great game to interact with family and friends. We recommend it to everyone!

I bought this as a gift for my sister. She and I had a really great time playing it...the only downside is that in order to play on the multiplayer setting you either have to buy a second turntable or a guitar controller. Other than that, I really enjoyed how each song is actually a mashup instead of just a remixed version. It adds a twist to songs you may be tired of hearing over and over.

Great game. No, we are not real DJ's...I bought this for my 11,9, and 6 year old for Christmas but I love it as well. The music is fantastic. I want a CD! The kids have not stopped playing it (when I am not playing it). Loads of fun.

I just received this game yesterday, and it was fun and challenging(for me at least). If you are not familiar with the hero family start at Beginner stage. It kept me entertained for hours, and there are so many mix choices. I like that fact that you can download new songs whenever you want and that alot are included with the game to begin with. I was able to go through the tutorial, and instantly unlock new sections once I got started. Those were the pros.

The cons: My biggest concern however, is it really worth[...]? When I received my turntable it looked cheaper than the one that was in Best Buy. I know it's the same but it was lighter than expected. The quality of workmanship also deserves a comment: my turntable looked like it had a few areas that were not finished with the silver spray paint. I know, I'm picky. A little steep for you to have to unlock more songs, if they were all available instantly I feel a little better about it. Also when I looked at the downloadable material, it appeared that one song mix was 300 points or 3 bucks. Not feeling that so much. I can see this if you were getting more for your money. My technical issues I'm having are the following: Difficulty or inconvenience of pluging in and removing the wii remote. I got it done, but my goodness! Difficulty seeing the small writing at the bottom of the screen and control instructions. Maybe it's my crappy TV but I had to come up close on the TV to see anything. I'm getting a new one and hope that this improves. Lastly, as a right handed person using the bottoms on my far right side was awkward for me. I would suggest that you try both ways; inside right and far right to see which one works for you. It also helps not to play too long.

Overall, I think this will be fun and I plan to try it out with a group of people over the Holiday; I think that it will be even more fun that way. Individually, I'm extremly competitive so this should be interesting...

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun for music fans, with only a couple of downsides..., June 25, 2011

As with any game that comes with a new controller, DJ Hero (for the Wii) takes a bit of getting used to; specifically, the "slider." The tutorials are very helpful, but because of certain odd difficulty inconsistencies, Progressing from the Medium difficulty level to the Hard difficulty level can be a bit of a nightmare. Having said that, I do like this game. It's very fun to play the songs over and over again, just because the music is good. Some of the songs are certainly more fun to play and listen to than others, especially since a couple of mixes just seem a bit off in terms of what got smashed together (Beastie Boys' Sabotage with Foo Fighters Monkey Wrench is particularly jarring..., and all of the songs by Scratch Perverts are barely even music.). But otherwise some pretty catchy tracks.

So as a rundown so far, the game is fun and very re-playable, and it's fun to try and get good at harder difficulties...

The negatives, which don't ruin the experience, per se, but are still a bit of a bother: First, you can't ever lose. So there's no real reason to improve. You could also just zip through all the songs on an easy difficulty to unlock everything with no reason to struggle to improve onto the harder difficulties. I'm working on getting better on the "hard" setting, now, and because I've gone through everything on medium, already, I keep forgetting where I've left off, as I don't actually have to unlock anything else. And, boy, is that hard difficulty setting quite a step up over the medium level. Lots of more fun stuff to do, but the very quick slider "spikes" are nearly impossible to get right. Wouldn't be a problem in real dj-ing, because the sound would just be what you made it; it's really more of a controller problem, as it is just very difficult to move the slider part of the dj hero controller accurately enough in time with the music. Perhaps it's just me, though...

Also, I don't know about the other systems, but on Wii, when choosing new characters and outfits, and their decks, loading times is pretty laggy. I've already moved on to the next character or two by the time the one I was on before finally loads, and then it changes again because I've moved past him... and a few of the songs have skipped or "stuttered", which makes playing a game in which timing is key a bit difficult. Haven't tried online matches(because I bought the game in 2011; probably not much of an online community anymore...), but it's still fun alone. It's annoying that in single player, on the rock tracks that guitar playing is available on, that you still have to look at the computer-played guitar "highway". And I was shocked that there is basically nothing to download, and they're a bit overpriced (300 wii points per song?), without much to differentiate them from what's on the disc, already (basically all the same artists with some different song choices mixed together... nothing that really got me itching to download...). Lastly, my wiimote doesn't fit very well into the cradle box at the top of the turntable, so it just sticks out while I play...

I didn't want to make it seem like the problems bog the game down, but they exist and are just a few negatives to a game that is a lot of fun and I'll probably pull out to scratch on for as long as I own my Wii. Give it a try if you've fairly dexterous and like mashed up music.

Oh, and really anyone can play this game; there are the baby-est difficulty settings for all types. My roommate started on the lowest difficulty, and you just press ANY button vaguely in time to the beat...

I purchased this game as a Christmas gift and I was sincerely hoping that nothing would be wrong with it when the kids tried to play it. I was not disappointed. The game was packaged well and came exactly a described. This game was probably one of the best gifts in the house. Everyone (all ages) set down to give it a try. I would definitely purchase from seller again.
