No hassle!,
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Wii Energizer Induction Charge Station (Accessory)
I've tried out many different kinds of chargers before. One on sale, one not on sale, etc. When I heard about this one, it intrigued me. Sure, $50 isn't cheap but I was sick of trying to match the contact point on the controller with the charger. And I didn't want to remove the rubber cover from my wiimote after it's attached to the new Wii Motionplus, which I was excited to buy. So I preordered this item. Two to be exact. One for me and one for my nephew. And I tried it out and this is what I found out.
The instruction booklet says it'll take 4 and a half hour to fully charge from the box. I started charging at 6:40pm. And at 1:20am, it wasn't done yet. Since I had to go to sleep, I had to remove it. Next day, I started charging at 6:40pm again. And at 12:30am, it wasn't done yet. So that was combined charge of 12:30 hours. The day after that it was done after 3 hours. So it took me over 15 hours to charge from the first time. I knew charging it without stopping will take less so took out my 2nd charger and started charging. That finished in about 10 hours. So I'm guessing not all charges are the same from the box. If the previous reviewer is correct then I have to estimate it'll take 6-12 hours to charge from getgo. Then I started using it. 1st day I used it for exactly 2:50. Next day for another 2:40. Then on 3rd day, I noticed the charge was in red after few minutes. I stopped after using it for 90 minutes. So that was exactly 7 hours. But I was playing Broken Sword, which requires you to just press button here and there so 7 hours is probably the most you can get out of full charge. Heavily used games like MadWorld won't last more than 3-4 hours I say. Next day I started charging the almost dead wiimote to see how long it'll take to charge that one. That was done around 6 hours. I say around because when I came out to check, it was green already. So I have to guess on that one. But I LOVE how I don't have to worry about whether my wiimote is placed correctly to charge. Previous models I used, I came out to find out it wasn't charging at all for hours because the contacts weren't made properly. That made me go crazy. But this one, I just put it down and it's done. I know it's charging. So to summarize: PROS 1) EASY to charge. VERY easy. 2) Don't have to take out rubber skin on wiimote to charge 3) Works with Wii Motionplus attached to it 4) Lasts relatively long for a rechargeable CONS 1) $50 isn't cheap. I'm sure most people think you can go through tons of regular batteries at that price. And you're probably right. 2) Takes awhile to charge and recharge. With the release of Wii Motionplus, I'm guessing the batteries will drain even faster. With this product, you just have to play and then rest it on the charger after you're done to have full charge next time you play. The battery DOES get somewhat hot so like the previous reviewer, I wouldn't recommend leaving it on the charger for longer than it needs to. But if you just want a charger that is no hassle then this one is for you. I definitely recommend it.

batteries drain quickly--is mine defective?,
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Wii Energizer Induction Charge Station (Accessory)
old info:
I don't know if mine was simply defective, or if it's a problem with the product itself (I'll be happy to edit this review accordingly if I find out it's just mine....) I've owned this thing for only five days. I have yet to actually PLAY on my Wii since getting it. See, I've charged the batteries on it three times now; each time, the charger showed that the batteries were charged (after 5 to 5-1/2 hours). This in spite of using the tight-fitting glove kits, as opposed to the wii jacket. The whole reason I got it was so I could use rechargeable batteries without having to peel off the glove. Each time, the WII showed that the batteries were fully charged...at least if I checked right after charging them up. And each time, if I went a day or more without using the remote AT ALL (not counting to check the Wii's assessment of the charge)...the batteries were completely drained! I shouldn't have to charge the remote every morning just because I expect I MIGHT use the Wii later that day, and I shouldn't have to wait five hours to charge it when I DO want to use it! If I can't figure out what's causing this problem soon, I'm probably just going to return the device, and go back to plain old Double A's. Even though the whole point of getting these things was to avoid having to constantly replace batteries.... Is this just a problem I'm experiencing, or has someone else noticed the same difficulties? new info: As it turned out, mine WAS defective; one side of the charger wasn't charging batteries like it should have been, even though the light turned green after the expected number of hours. The other side charged just fine. That MIGHT be the same problem that at least one other person has reported. I'll wait until I get a new one before I do a proper review...which given Amazon's edit functions, may mean deleting this review and creating a brand new one (probably need to change my rating, and it won't let me change it on a published review).

I got this charger because I wanted to leave the rubber grips on the Wii remotes while charging them. I used the optional support to stand the charger upright but the contact between the remote and the charger was inconsistant and frustrating. I have since removed the support and the charger works flawlessly. There are reviews on the internet that mention the charger heating up but I have not found this to be true. My remotes are constantly on the charger when not in use and everything works perfectly. I highly recommend this product especially if you want to use the new Wii Motion Plus add-on.

I heard about this months ago and decided to buy one when the charger I used stopped working. It works as advertised. There are no battery contacts on the charger so I wont have to worry about the contact to the charger rusting due to moisture or sweat. Item is a little smaller than most chargers out there right now. I was suprised how small it was. Took 10 seconds to set the stand up and plug it in. It can be stood up vertically or horizontally. The recargable batteries are screwed into covers for the wii remotes. I just put the covers on, put the soft wii jackets back on and set them on the charger. The batteries had a little power in them but I let them get fully charged before using them. Took about 6 hours for me. I have heard it can take 8 or 9. One thing I noticed after they were charged is that the remotes were hot but I didnt think it would affect the batteries at all. Id advise not charging them when your gone or asleep just in case. I like it and I would highly reccomend it to anyone purchasing one.

Best charger I've tried so far,

This is my fourth charger. I've had ones that charged fine before, but I get tired of not being able to charge without pulling out the straps or the sleeves. Since I have a 5 year old here I can't run without them, so this was a good find for me.
Mine charged initially in about 5 hours or so, so not nearly as bad as some of the reviews. Charge lasts about as long as my previous charging system did, and I really can't say how long it takes on average to recharge them since I just set them down and ignore them. The ease is what makes this unit a winner over the other three I've had previously. Doesn't get any easier than this...

One of the few products you will ever buy that works the way you would expect it to. You can leave your wiimote on the charger indefinitely. After it's done charging (orange light) the green light comes on and there is only a tiny trickle charge provided as needed. You can leave you skins on. It works with the motion plus. It charges quickly (after the initial charge) and the charge last a long time. Don't worry about getting warm during charging. It's not that warm and that is just how it works. After the light goes green, our wiimotes are at room temperature.
I'm guessing this product will win some engineering awards for functionality and simplicity! And for what it does so well, it's price isn't bad at all.

There is no doubt about the success of the Nintendo Wii, and how many hearts it has captured. But when it has came down recharging the Wii-mote, it usually goes by either AA batteries, or just a rechargeable charge. Fortunately, Energizer has came up with a strong solution with their 2X Induction Charge Station. It is very easy and simple to use. The thing that I like about the station is that it works well with the Wii sleeves that came with the Wii that Nintendo made, where you don't have to take it off while it charges up. While it does charge well, my biggest gripe about the recharger is that it could honestly be a bit cheaper in price, to compete with ones by Nyko, and other third-party rechargable battery charger that were made for the Wii. But, this one by Energizer really does the trick for anyone who wants a rechargable battery for the Wii, rather than using disposable AA batteries.

Terrific product. Works well and charges quickly. You don't have to remove the jacket and the Motion Plus is not a problem

expensive but easy,

This review is from: Wii Energizer Induction Charge Station (Accessory)
I bought this after realizing there really was no viable alternative I could use. With other charging stations the skin, the band, and the motion plus had to be removed and sometimes the battery itself. All that needs to be done with this one is lay the remote as is against the slot in the charger and woolah, it's charging. I'm not a gaming fanatic so there isn't a need for me to have this ready to go in an instant and the battery life seems good. I have gone 6 straight hours and didn't have any issue.
The only complaint I have is how bright the charging indicator light is. When charged the lights turn green and lights up the whole room at night. A dimming option or just a smaller light would be perfect. It is very expensive probably because it's new and there is nothing out there like it, but for now, since this is the only one, it's worth the expense to me.

Great Charger, Very Convenient,

Very well worth the price. At first I thought it was a little costly, but for the convenience of not having to remove the jacket or the Wii motion plus, it is worth every penny. Only draw back is the fact that the battery pack and the enclosure are one piece, so that it makes it impossible to sync the controller to another Wii. It's not a problem if you only plan on using it on your own. Overall, I would have to say, I love it!!!
