4.0 out of 5 stars Epic Mickey Blot remote charger January 21, 2011
Ehhhh... this review will be partially biased, as I'm a hardware collector (making me more critical on some things), and also a fan on the game (more forgiving in general).

For starters, the functionality of the unit is good. It (mine) came with one rechargeable battery, and two "backs" for your wiimote (one black & one white), so that it will match your controller. That was a nice touch, since I had decided to trade-in my original rechargeable battery unit since it was white, and I have a black wii (currently black hardware is more common, but not when the black wii system was first released in US).

A small gripe, or possible I got screwed; The instructions state that the unit comes with two batteries (as in, two sets of rechargeable batteries). The plastic holding the accessories in the box although only has space for one battery, so I'm assuming that was a typo, or a removed idea.

Although I might have been screwed - the manual also says that the battery was in a plastic wrap, where as mine was not (my box was "new / sealed").

The good about this, is that its a very clever, very unique, and very cool design for a remote charger. If you've played the game, you will be very fond of this item. The glowing face changes color depending if the remote is in need of charge, or if its full. The lights are very impressive, and when its the only light on in the room, the Blot's texture and Mickeys face all have a very eerie look to it.

Somewhere between good & bad is the fact that this recharger unit is designed for one single remote. Good for me, as I don't care for many party games, and rarely even keep batteries in my 2nd remote. Bad for those who have a lot of wii party games & rely on more than one remote often.

1.0 out of 5 stars Defective out of the box, cheap crap, can't return it November 3, 2011

Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
I ordered the Epic Mickey Remote Charger back in April of 2011. It looked great and I put it up on my shelf as a display, intending to eventually unbox it and use it when we'd completed some major home remodeling.

It took longer than we planned for the remodeling, but I kept this box on display because it looks pretty nice, even in the box. I was finally only able to unbox it and install it today. That's when I discovered it won't power on.

The power cord that connects to this charger plugs in underneat, on the bottom. When I plugged it in, I thought it felt a little loose. I installed the special batter pack in my wiimote, put it in the charger, and nothing happened. I tried several different wiimotes, but no luck. After inspecting the power port more closely on the charger, I could see that the internal power plug was loose and pulled away from the opening.
In fact, if you gently shake the charger, you can hear the power plug rattling around loosely.

Since the item has been in my posession (unopened) for so long, I can't exchange it at Amazon. There's no warranty that I can find (the manual references a warranty but I can't find it). I can't even fix it myself without damaging the unit because there's no screws, it's all vinyl pieces glued together.

All and all, a very disappointing experience. I really did want this to work, :(

1.0 out of 5 stars Broken from the start. Fixed it myself. January 5, 2012

Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
Power socket in the base broke off of its mount. Then, one of the contacts on the charger broke. For the price I paid and the time it would take to drive to UPS to return the item, it was cheaper and faster for me to fix it myself, make it better, and keep my son happy. Don't buy this item unless you can fix it yourself. If it's not broken now, it will be in a few days!

the charger stopped working after a couple of weeks. Just from regular use the charger stops reading the sensors. Luckily we fixed once but need to do it again

1.0 out of 5 stars Broken on arrival April 11, 2013

This is so adorable, but it was broken and would not even hold the plug in. I sent it back via USPS mail to the address it came from (paid for return shipping myself) It took me going through Amazon for them to get my money back. The sellers are dishonest for sure. Watch out for them.. and this product. It is not so great. Looks great, just does not work. and is cheaply made. Which is too bad, because it sure looked cute. :)

3.0 out of 5 stars Did they use Paint Thinner on Mine?! December 4, 2012

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I was super excited to see this product when I first bought it at Toys R Us! Got home...quickly became dissapointed since the power cord couldn't connect to the unit. Returned it and they shipped me another one.
The "new" one works...yes, but there are paint defects all over it. Looks like they put it in the box or moved it without it being dried. So I'm going to have to fix it like everyone else seems to have.
