The list author says: "This is a list of Nintendo Wii games that are geared toward young kids ages 3 to 8. All of these games got great reviews from Amazon parents for these ages. Most of the games have no violence except the Super Paper Mario that has some battling (but these are geared for the older kids).
I made this list because I have a 4 year old girl, and two boys, ages 6 and 8. It took me FOREVER to sort through all of the Wii games out there to find games that were age appropriate, fun, and easy for my little ones to play. So hopefully this will help you out in your search for YOUR Wii-ones!
**I have organized it so the games are in age appropriate order. (Youngest kids' games first)**
******UPDATE: I have added some new games to the list and updated each entry to show if a nunchuk is required and what is the max # of players for each game. ****************"
"Ages: 3-5yrs, 2 player max(but 2nd player is only a helper). All my kids love this game. It is the easiest one for everyone to learn and play right away. Basically you walk along finding and collecting items, climbing ladders, swinging on vines, skating, and having fun! My 3 yr old can play it all by herself! Almost identical to the Diego game below."
"Ages: 3-5yrs, 2 players max (but 2nd player is only a helper). This is almost identical to the Dora game. You are walking along collecting items. But this game also has mini games for driving, flying, boating and riding an elephant. The kids love to just do those games!"
"Ages: 3-6 Requires Nunchuk, 2 players max(but 2nd player is only a helper). My daughter (3) loves this game, even though the nunchuk was hard, she loves to cast the spells with the wiimote. There are 4 princess worlds and 3 levels in each chapter. They follow and collect jewels and get mini tasks while the on screen characters help your princess along the way."
"4 player max. This is just like the Disney world ride but better! My whole family loves this carnival style game! You get to shoot plates, pop balloons, toss hoops, copy sequences, and have a great time with the toy story characters!"
"Max of 4 players. Plays just like a board game and my kids 8,6,and 4 love it! You jump, hit the dice, move those # of spaces. You get candy for super powers (bowl over other players, steal candy/coins, zap their coins, jump to their spot) and at end of each round- minigames! You also try to get the most stars (20 coins each or free if you are lucky!) Mom/Dad love playing too!"
"Ages: 5+, 4 players max(wheel/Nunchuk optional). My boys- 5,7 love this game! They could do it right away. And the best part is the game is very forgiving. If they fall off the cliff, it brings them back on the track- for as many times as you fall- which is great! Lots of tracks and winning opens up new sections!"
"Ages: 4+, 4 players max (Nunchuk optional). We ALL love playing this game- teaches teamwork and/or competitiveness as you work your way through worlds collecting coins and star coins. A long game, that will be a lot of fun for a long time!"
"Requires Nunchuk & max of 2 players. NOTE: 1 player in game mode, while another player can join for mini-games only. My 5,7 yr boys love this game. It is a cool version of I-Spy and once you solve a puzzle, it opens up a mini-game to play. Lots of ways to view the same puzzle scene- up in air in birds eye view, turn the scene and see it from all angles - even the back!"
"Max of 2 players. Target Audience is probably 5 and up. Amazon Reviewer: "a child-friendly answer to the wii fit. ...but the mat can be frustrating" ...."my 4yr old loves it!" "my three year old can play the trampoline game and the whack a mole game with relative ease.""

Reviewer: " In addition to Disney animation questions, there are some general knowledge questions, most of which are extremely easy, such as this gem: "Which is more useful in the rain? An umbrella or a balloon?" The simple questions make Disney Think Fast a good game for young children.""

Amazon Reviewers: My 5 year old son loves it! At first it takes a little getting used to to move Mario using the nunchuck and the wii remote at the same time, but then its easy!"
"Requires the Nunchuk with max of 2 players, but 2nd player is only helper. My boys (7 and 9) go CRAZY over this game! This new version of Super Mario Galaxy allows you to bring your Yoshi to each new planet. Not as much reading compared to first Version. Player 2 can spin, freeze and knock down enemies and grab coins."

"bought this for my kids (6,4,3)(for)a fun/educational experience, ...but whenever the game wants to advance the "story" I take over...so the kids can get back to scuba diving.""
"Max of 1 player. There is a lot of reading with hints and directions throughout the game: Amazon Reviewers: "my kids are 12 and 7 and we ALL like (it!)"... "it's fun for adults (and)younger kids. It doesn't rely as much on fine motor control skills and precise jumping, but focus(es) more on making you think how best to use your characters and Pixls to beat certain obstacles or bosses. ""

"My kids, ages 13 - 20, absolutely enjoy this game...a game for all ages.""
