5.0 out of 5 stars For Multiplayer Guitar Hero Fun
Seeing as there is no alternative product, other than maybe a few cheaper knock-off guitars, this is your best way to go if you want to have some multiplayer Guitar Hero fun on your Wii.

It's the exact same guitar as the one packaged with the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock Bundle.

5.0 out of 5 stars For Multiplayer Guitar Hero Fun, March 31, 2008

Seeing as there is no alternative product, other than maybe a few cheaper knock-off guitars, this is your best way to go if you want to have some multiplayer Guitar Hero fun on your Wii.

It's the exact same guitar as the one packaged with the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock Bundle.

If you are debating on saving a few dollars to get a "knockoff version" such as the Nyko one, don't bother. I think you would be much better off investing a few more dollars to get the trustworthy guitar that was made by the company that is partnered with the Guitar Hero software developers.

Unfortunately, the price point is a bit on the expensive side, but it is cheaper here than anywhere else I've seen it.

So, if you are looking to play Guitar Hero on your Wii with a 2nd player guitar, look no further. This is the product we have all been awaiting for the past 5 months since Guitar Hero III's release back in November 2007. Have fun rocking out!

Great Quality. You do need a Wii remote for it though. You will need a Wii Remote for each "instrument" controller when you play Guitar Hero on Wii. Recommended if you need an extra guitar!

It works with the following:

Guitar Hero III / Aerosmith
Guitar Hero World Tour / Smash Hits / Metallica
Guitar Hero 5 / Band Hero
Rock Band 2

5.0 out of 5 stars Guitar Hero Guitar=Amazing, March 30, 2008
A Kid's Review

Guitar Hero 3 is the latest installment in the Guitar Hero series, and it's back on a new console- Nintendo's Wii. In this guitar you put your Wii Remote inside the Guitar Hero Guitar. You can always take the neck off, to save space. There are 5 "fret" buttons: The green, the red, the yellow, the blue, and the orange. There is a control stick, like the one on the Nunchuk, and you can use it to navigate around the Wii Menu. And under that is the strum bar. You move it up or down when a note comes at you, and at the same time press a fret button, and it makes a sound. Next to that is the + and - buttons. You use these to pause the game. Under these is the Whammy bar, which is rotatable. And it comes with a strap, so you don't drop it when you're playing. Yes, if you need another guitar for your Wii, don't hesitate to buy this. It will not be a waste of your money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good guitar controller if you're on a budget., October 6, 2009

The reason I purchased the Les Paul guitar controller was due to the fact that I was able to find it cheaper than the other controllers (such as the Guitar Hero World Tour controller). On both the new and used markets, the Les Paul is just as widely available but less expensive than the others. It functions the same; just wrapped up in a different package.

I primarily purchased the Les Paul controller due to The Beatles: Rock Band. Not wishing to pay the exorbitant price for the bundle (and knowing I'd never use the drums anyway), I simply the purchased the game software and a single guitar. For The Beatles, this works great. It has a lightweight feel which means you can play with or without a guitar strap, the buttons are crisp and smooth and I prefer the more classic look of the Les Paul to the newer guitar controller designs, so this worked quite well all around.

I would highly recommend this controller if you're looking to get into these games and can't afford to spend a lot on a bundle pack or just want an extra guitar around for multiplayer.

4.0 out of 5 stars Aerosmith faceplate?, January 5, 2009

I purchased this thinking I would receive an additional white-faced controller. Instead I received one with an Aerosmith faceplate and Aerosmith-related sticker set. I guess if I cared much for Aerosmith, it wouldn't be much of an issue, but I really would rather have a white one. Also of note, the box has no markings to signify it's an Aerosmith edition. Weak.

4.0 out of 5 stars A nice controller with good features, just a little noisy, November 30, 2008
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Wii Les Paul Wireless Guitar (Video Game)
The Wii Les Paul controller for Guitar Hero is quite nice and a good improvement over previous controllers. The neck is detachable, which is nice for anyone who needs to store it in a more compact form. The fret buttons are rounded rather than square, which is better for doing hammer-ons in the game as your fingers can run across them more smoothly. The strum bar is longer than before which is good but it's a little noisy, you just might have to turn the volume up in the game when using it. The interchangeable faceplate is cool too, if you want another one and you're willing to spend $10 or $15 on a cooler one you can. I also don't like how the remote is inside the guitar, I think it looks a little tacky and is a bit of a hassle but it's not a huge deal. Overall the Les Paul controller is great, the new one for World Tour may be way better but for its time it's a good controller that I will continue to use as a bass for World Tour.

This product is much cheaper through amazon than any of the stores we have looked at. The game is great! We have a lot of fun playing solo as well as duet in this game and it is endless fun for us. Would recommend it to anyone thinking about getting a Wii game.

I wasn't real sure if having a second guitar would be worth it, but it's great. Now both my daughter and I can play at the same time, either cooperatively (to beat the game and work our way up), or in "face off" mode, against each other. If we needed to we could actually be at different levels in "face off" (e.g. she in Hard, me in Medium). Definitely worth the purchase--in cooperative mode, one person takes bass, the other takes lead guitar (although there are still 5 "strings" on the bass guitar). I've found that the Wii remote chews up batteries--I pull them out when not playing, and they seem to last longer.
