4.0 out of 5 stars Works well with Rock Band on Wii
Bought it so my wife can play rock band with me on the Wii. Hooked it up through wireless and it works great. She can move around the room and it picks up her voice no problem. It is a real microphone and comes with an adapter and wire you can use to plug it into an amplifier or karaoke machine if you were so inclined.
The only downside is that both the wireless...

I really wanted to like this item. I do both Singstar and Rock Band with friends and family and was hoping this would solve the problems inherent in a wired mic (people tripping on it, etc). However, the mics only sometimes seem to work at all with Rock Band, and have a high pitched squealing sound when they do work in either game. It may be different for the Wii, but I...

It is a real microphone and comes with an adapter and wire you can use to plug it into an amplifier or karaoke machine if you were so inclined.
The only downside is that both the wireless transmitter and microphone use batteries and must be switched on when you are ready to play. In addition, you must use the wiimote to join the band and make song selections. So it gets a little cumbersome to setup, but I would think this would be the case with any microphone that wasn't specifically designed for use with Rockband. However I would still definitely recommend it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible sound quality (wireless OR wired) on PS3, March 26, 2009
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars

COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY! DO NOT PURCHASE!
I bought this microphone pair to use with Rock Band 2 and Sing Star on my PS3.
The sound quality is HORRIBLE, both with and without the cord.

There is a constant, loud buzzing sound, and your voice sounds like you are speaking through a busted intercom speaker. I tried both microphones, in both ports, in various locations, from various distances, both with the cable and without it. Nothing would get rid of the horrible sound.

The microphones feel pretty solid, but the wireless antenna loosely fits into the end of the mic. It BARELY stays in, and it would not stand up to any moderately-hard "rocking" at your next party.
Another disappointing bit is that the microphone takes a AA battery, and the receiver takes a AA battery (even though it is plugged directly into the USB dongle port!)
Having both microphones coming out of a single USB port is useful, but why does there have to be a separate piece plugging into the dongle, wasting another AA battery?

I can't speak to it's usefulness with the Wii, because I don't have any singing games. (And I don't have a PS2.)
I will be saving my money either for a pair of SingStar microphones, or for a high-quality Logitech mic.

1.0 out of 5 stars Useless!, March 3, 2009

Unfortunately I ignored all the negative reviews and purchased this product anyway. I really wanted a wireless microphone so that our toddler would stop tripping over the cords.

I am quite disappointed that this product does not work as described. There is so much feedback if it works at all. In fact, the second microphone is not even supposed to be functional at all for the Wii. I didn't realize that until I read the installation instructions. In my opinion that should have been highlighted in the product description.

Stay away from this product. It is a complete waste of money.

Not worth the money. Both mics are very static. I purchased these for extra mics to play sing star with. You are better off using the sing star mics that come with the game.

...but quite simply it doesn't work as a wireless microphone. If it is not screechingly deafening with feed back then it distorts my voice beyond any semblance of recognition making it useless for any singing game.

Well still trying to get it to work on my Wii, I get more static and one of the mics does not appear to work. It looks simple enough to install, but for me I threw my money into the toilet. try some other brand. buyer be ware.

I bought this product and returned it after about 1 hour.

The wireless reception is so bad that it mostly resembles a radio not tuned to any specific station. Just static noise.

The only use for this product is to use the USB adaptor with a decent wireless microphone pair (check out the Pyle Pro PDWM-2600).

I did not try the wired version of the microphones.
