Great game!!! Shipped almost like the next day! We were trying to decide if we wanted to just buy the regular DJ hero or the renegade edition. I am glad we paid the little extra for the Renegade edition, as it comes with a nice case that doubles as the stand. EVERYONE at my house uses this game standing... and have a blast! The game has great music!

Greatest Christmas Gift Ever. At least that's what my brother said to all of his friends after I gave this to him Christmas Eve. The music is awesome and it was definitely worth the extra cash to get the "renegade edition." The hard case that turns into a table it great and very sturdy. I like that the height is adjustable too. The turntables aren't hard to use and it gets easier the more you use them. The CD that came with it was decent. It would have been better if it came with a CD of the music from the game though. All in all, my brother loves it and I can't wait to hook up my guitar from "guitar hero" so we can jam together.

Got it for my husband. He loves it and it's completely awesome and I am an awesome wife for getting it. I think it's MUCH better looking than the regular DJ Hero, but I don't know if it's worth a $100 price difference (I got it on a lightening deal, so it was a lot less). I don't think it's worth more than a $50 price difference from the regular version, personally.

*Update* I reduced it to 4 stars after playing on it for a while because the legs aren't as sturdy as I originally thought (they didn't break or anything, just wobbly) and the door for the Wiimote got messed up. Only grown (sober) adults have played on this thing, so it was not roughed up at all. I also think the upgrade from the regular DJ Hero to be worth more like $30-40 versus the originally $50 that I said. All in all, still a very fun game, but the quality of the parts could have been a lot better. I wouldn't have minded paying the extra $100 if I was getting a product that was $100 better.

When I saw this game in TRU I knew I had to have it. I am not a video game person but I was a teenager when mixing and scratching came out and it was like going back in time. Days of high school dances and break dancing.

So you ask yourself, "If you love it so much why only 3 stars?"

When I saw the price of the Renegade edition I went on a quest to read reviews to see if it was worth the price difference. I found only one that was helpful and this person actually stated that it was not worth the extra money. But I thought if I spent the extra money for the case I would be happy. I didn't want the additional CD just the case that doubles as a stand. BOY WAS I WRONG! Let me just say one phrase "MADE IN CHINA"!

Within a few days the door that closes in the wiimote broke off. The bottom of the case is where you screw in the legs to make the stand. Well that broke off on two of the legs. Then the rollerball (which is like the numchuck) on the game broke, which rendered one of the two turntables I purchased useless. I now have to return this one and I am sure I will run into the same problems with the other one. The game was handled only by me or my husband so the problems did not happen because of neglect.

With that said I do not recommend spending the additional money for the stand. It will break. It is not well made. The turntable is pretty but if you are looking to spend the extra money based on just the case and stand (like I was) you may regret it.

Now the good things about the game itself!

Pros:
+The music is great. Great mix of old, new, pop, rock, blues, R&B
+The game is easy to follow (Even my 6 year old was able to play it on medium) I of course play it on easy.
+The tutorial is great for non gamers
+Love the mode that allows someone to play the guitar at the same time, or another DJ hero. I actually purchased another one so I sould battle with another person, but as you saw above that did not work for me.
+I think the graphics are nice
+The Renegade version turntable (platter) is very nice. Shiny black and the gold crossfade button just make the turntable look beautiful

Pick up the box - it's heavy. One would think this is a quality piece of equipment. After a quick set up and thirty minutes of fairly easy handling by my teenage daughter, the joystick fails to spring back upright. The discount retailer, not to be mentioned, won't do anything since it was purchased more than 30 days ago as a birthday present (Lesson learned - don't buy birthday presents in advance that surpasses the return period). I am now buying DJ Hero 2 in an effort to get a new turntable without duplicating software and since it is only $2.53 more than the turntable alone (another marketing fail). This one will get played as soon as it arrives. I think the expression "throwing good money after bad" is suitable here. I'm not optimistic.

The game is not the pick up and play game I expected but with time and practice you will fall in love with the game.

This game is so much fun, i get home from school everyday and have to fight over it with my siblings. Not just for little kids I play it almost 3 hours straight and it never gets old. If you ever need to just kill some time then definitely buy this game. I would recommend this game to anyone one under the age of 50, and who plays video games over that age anyways. I like the fact that you can play with friends to and watching this game isn't boring either. All and all I would rate this game well above all others of its kinds. I really can't say enough about this game. It has gotten great reviews from many people and sources so please do yourself a favor and buy it. I went through amazon with my new account and it was quick and easy plus it was cheaper than buying it at the store even with shipping. I feel like no matter what you do you can't go wrong with purchasing anything through amazon. The game again is wonderful it show how far graphics have come since just a few years ago when I played games similar to this one. If you only buy one game this year you need to check this one out and buy it right now. I cant believe your still reading this you need to be buying the game right now!! Come on! Do it! I LOVE DJING!!

Bought this because it was on sale. this is my first music game and i have to say i love it. both my wife and I are enjoying playing and the difficulty levels are just right.

the cd's won't read-still waiting for replacements from jon music. not very happy as there is no way to contact by phone.

DJ Hero is great fun and a learning experience to young kids on how Hip hop came about. I love the fact my kids here music i grew up on.
