4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent companion to Rock Band
This compliment to the Rock Band bundled edition is a must buy, especially if you want to enjoy four person band play, or have three people who all dislike being a lead singer. So far, I have no complaints about the game play with this guitar.

This is the same guitar that comes inside the bundled version of Rock Band.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dongle Broken
Don't buy this guitar. All of these guitars are defective (just google it and you'll see). My guitar is broken because the dongle stopped working right after I opened the box. EA refuses to send a new one and has been of absolutely no help.

I love Rock band and Guitar hero. This guitar is much better in my opinion than the guitar hero guitar. It is also cheaper by 20 dollars.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great game, shoddy peripherals, September 28, 2008
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

Rock band is really fun, my friends and i play for hours and hours, but the guitars and drums are really low quality. the plastic drum pedal snapped after only a week, the first guitar i got just plain stopped working after about 20 minutes of gameplay, and the whammy bar on the second guitar broke after just a few weeks.

i'm sure the equipment would be just fine under a gentle touch, but a game called rock band should be prepared for something a little more intense. EA games will replace any broken equipment, but you have to wait for them to send you a box, then wait for your broken equipment to get to them, then wait for them to send you a new one, meanwhile you only have half a game.

I don't know what anyone can do about it though, just be aware that the stuff is fragile, and try not to let it ruin a great game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rock Band IS Just FUN!!!, July 31, 2008
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Wii Rock Band Wireless Guitar (Accessory)
Rock Band is a super fun game. It builds rythm and coordination. And youre listening to some great music. Whats not to like?

Who cares about creating characters and outfits on the game. I've tried on others systems. There's no meaningful reason to do it accept to waste time not playing.

Granted downloadable content would have been really nice, but the ability to buy volume packs is good. Hopefully, they'll make all the downloadable content available in volume packs in the future.

For now, just have fun and Rock On!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Wii Rock Band guitar is a sham..., January 2, 2010

The Wii Rock Band guitar's wireless receiver (white little box called a "dongle") will basically stop working after a few hours of play. This is due to its poor circuitry design (it fries very, very easily). You cannot buy a replacement part, EA and Harmonix will both ask you to buy the whole set again. It's a very insane situation, please use Google to verify what I have said here as it is a huge problem that they refuse to acknowledge. They make no reference to this problem in their online tech support or on their forums (but their disgruntled customers have made many, many posts on both).

4.0 out of 5 stars Just as good as the original, September 30, 2008

Its basically the same as the guitar included in the original Rock Band set which is good for the most part. I was hoping it would include a bass head, but that's my only real complaint. Finally four of us can play Rock Band on my Wii

1.0 out of 5 stars My Dongle Died!, December 28, 2008

I played RB1 for a month or so, and then we put our instruments away in wait for RB2. We just picked up RB2 and my dongle doesn't work! I've tried it with multiple guitars, and it just keeps dropping out. This dongle came with the standalone guitar (we marked it so we'd know the 2 apart). I can't just buy a dongle, so I had to buy the RB2 guitar. I'd highly recommend buying the new guitar - it's got a much hardier dongle and the guitar itself is more accurate.
