Nice set-up for the money. Feels well balanced when playing " call of duty-modern warfare" and is the closest simulation of the 'real thing'. The biggest problem is the grip though- the hand and finger starts hurting after about 10mins into the game and I'm forced to take a break... Like previously stated: a major design flaw.
Would not recommend until the company...

Other reviews mention that the nun-chuck doesnt fit well in the housing. it is crucial to run that cord through the channel in the housing compartment for the intended fit.

i've found that more complicated Fist Person Shooters like Splinter Cell, which isnt a really 'gun heavy' game, may be a little more difficult as reaching the top of the wii remote can be a stretch, and switching between the 'C' and 'Z' (on the mag) to the 'a', '+', '-', 1 or 2 takes some practice/coordination. Resident Evil, which has very little control, would be great. the slide on this scale goes pretty far up before getting too complicated. i played Splinter Cell, Quantum Solace and just for fun, Wii Fit. Fit obviously didnt go so well and Splinter Cell was definitely fun and playable, but because the objectives often call for secretive silence, the 'Perfect Shot' may be better. ( i have both and the dexterity of two independent hands is better) Quantum Solace...AWESOME! i can only guess that Resident Evil games would be even better.

i found that this thing is pretty close to the size of a real gun like this. the barrel is obviously not as long as a real 'sniper rifle' but any longer and it would impede the view of the sensor bar. i actually leave it off for a more MP5 look and feel. those with small hands might have trouble wrapping em around the nun-chuck housing and retain the dexterity with the joystick, but my girlfriend has smaller hands for an adult and she really liked it- A HUGE FIRST.

hope this helps. sorry so long. there were some specific points i wish some one had spelled out before i bought it. i've nothing bad to say. however, get some rubber bands. the top door will hold better if you wrap a rubber band at the front and back. not ness, and Quick ties may be more difficult if this is not a dedicated set of remotes.
i'd buy another in a heart beat.

First of all this will NOT work with Resident Evil 4 as the trigger in the RE 4 is the A button and not the B button. The button layout can not be changed in Resident Evil 4.

Far worse is the size of the handle of the gun. It way too thick. I do not have huge hands, but not small ones either and I can not see being able to reasonably have my thumb on the nunchuck's analog stick and a finger on the trigger. It is a very poor design. Also, in games like Call of Duty, where you have to access the A,-,+, and the D pads to have the Wii remote so far forward in the gun makes it impossible to access the buttons with any resonable speed and still have your fingers on the C, and Z buttons from the nunchuck.

I would definately go with the zapper. There is a nice one that has a front and back handle. It is similar in design to this gun but is smaller and easier to handle. It does not have all the attachments that this does but why do you need a fake scope that you do not use or a bi-pod that is also just for show.

Overall this things is horrible.

4.0 out of 5 stars Live Demo - Wii Sniper Rifle Gun with calibration, March 28, 2011

Length:: 1:28 Mins

Demonstration of CTA Digital's Sniper Rifle Gun for Wii under optimum conditions (which applies to any gun-type accessory for Wii).

Objective: Approximate 1:1 accuracy via simple line-of-sight aiming.

Requirements:
- Minimum 10 feet between the Wii Remote and the Wii's sensor bar (maximum about 15 feet). TV, sensor bar, and player should be centered precisely. Don't step away from this centered firing position.
- Remove any accessory/extensions from the rifle that may obstruct the Wii Remote's view of the sensor bar. There shouldn't be any unusual problems with existing Wii Pointer tracking in the first place.
- `Ghost Squad` and `The House of the Dead 2&3 Return` are the ONLY two shooting games on Wii that calibrate properly, easily, and reliably. You will not get good results in other games due to their limited design, options, and/or their technical shortcomings.
- Be calm and aim carefully. Wii knows how much you twitch, and there's always a slight delay between your movement and the final shot/cursor location.

Quick review?
4/5 stars because the handle is poorly designed, difficult to grasp, and makes the Nunchuk harder to reach (I thought the Sure Shot Rifle had a good handle, but a poor trigger mechanism), and the thinner diameter in the middle of the scope reduces direct visibility. The trigger works much better than the previous Sure Shot Rifle and Buzz Shotgun designs, and the C/Z buttons have better placement. In the end, the product is a strong match with Ghost Squad's weapon selection, but clearly has room for improvement. On the software side, the applications for any "good" Wii gun accessory are very limited -- for now, "arcade gameplay" is their rightful place. Frankly, gun accessories shouldn't be used with FPS's (and similar action games) until the games are properly designed to take advantage of the accessories. As many users have pointed out, they've tried it and wasted their time/money.

My workaround for the handle is: I don't use it -- my thumb rests on the side while my middle finger supports the ring under the trigger. Holding the foregrip, which holds the rifle against my shoulder, actually does most of the hard work. For practical purposes, the rear "lens" of the scope should've included some kind of printed sight posts to aid sighting in conjunction with the front crosshair (I just used a marker to paint a dot in the center of my lens).

So, I looked around on Amazon hopping to find a Wii gun that would allow me to play Call of Duty: Black Ops. This was not the one. This gun is too complicated, the parts didn't fit on mine, the plastic looks like it might break after dropping it, the buttons on the magazine are too far away from the Wii-mote, and the grip was very poorly designed. I did however find a solution. The Wii Zapper works perfectly for Black Ops. It's more sleek and it's made with, I think, ABS plastic. It also comes with Links Crossbow Training which is quite fun. I would not recommend this to anyone. The Wii Zapper is all you need.

Love the sniper gun, makes the game much more fun and gives it a feel of reality.
Only one small issue I found is the legs, when I don't use them when shooting while I am standing but you can take it off. But overall I must say a great add on.

The bad: I'm a grown man with large hands. The grip behind the trigger is WAY too big for me. Wrist started hurting after 15min of play. How a child could use this is beyond me. I can't believe something like this slipped out of R & D and quality control. Think I'll send it back.

The good: It looks good.

Very nice design. Would have loved if it was avaiblable in black to match my wii and other accessories. I see some people have problems with this sniper rifle but i have not had any since i got it. Like one reviewer said, you guys just aren't doing it right. Works really well with some games but others are better off with the wii zapper (which i also would like in black). Games i use the sniper rifle on are, RE: Umbrella Chronicles, RE: Darkside Chronicles, House of the Dead 1&2, Reload, and Sniper Elite (the sniper rifle gives me a more realistic feel on Sniper Elite). The box says its compatible with RE4 but doesn't seem to work for me since A is the fire button for RE4 and most games B is the button used to fire your weapon. I still manage to play RE4 with the sniper rifle but i prefer the wii mote and nunchuk. I do have to say that maybe this sniper rifle was meant for people with bigger hands. I can't see a small hand being able to hold the rifle and pull the trigger. No prob for me!

this rifle for the Wii game if a nice looking peace of equipment but is a little hard to use. The controls are in a hard place to get to and it forward motion is a little slow. To stab you must let go of the rifle and use the down button and reloading and throwing a grenade is also hard as all these buttons are on top of the gun.

This wii rifle sure looks nice, but once I got it, I realized the flaw in the unit. First off the nun chuck does not go in easily ( compared to my other wii gun ) Even when rearranging the cord it still just didn't sit right ( seemed my unit was defective ). Also the buttons on the magazine of the gun wouldn't line up right with the front buttons on the nun-chuck.
The second flaw is the design of the grip + trigger. The grip is too wide and squared off, I'm not sure who's hand they had in mind when designing it but how many grips are completely squared off? Not very comfortable at all.
3rd issue is the trigger distance from the grip. It's so far from the grip that my hand strains to squeeze the trigger causing pain after prolonged use.
I'm returning my unit to amazon tomorrow as the Nun-chuck didn't fit right within the unit ( defective ). I'm going to look for another one to get as I need a gun that utilizes the front trigger on the wii controller to be able to play house of the dead.
