4.0 out of 5 stars Great Value, and they work just fine
I bought these to complement the wii wheel that came with my son's Mario Kart so I could have my 33 year old ego shattered by losing races to my 7 year old.

They work just fine and all the sensitivity is in the wiimote so don't worry that they won't work.

The ONLY thing that I prefer about the official wii wheel is the position of the "B"...

I mounted the Wii-mote in the wheel and tried to play. You are supposed to able to point the left side of the wheel at the Wii remote sensor to make screen selections. However, the mounted Wii-mote looses contact with the sensor when only halfway up the screen. Apparently this wheel is limiting...

They work just fine and all the sensitivity is in the wiimote so don't worry that they won't work.

The ONLY thing that I prefer about the official wii wheel is the position of the "B" button on the original. this unit only has a hole for the b button to protrude so if you've got small hands you might not reach the button as comfortably as the one on the wii wheel. My 7 year old's fingers are long enough though so this really isn't an issue.

5.0 out of 5 stars These wheels are fantastic, June 28, 2009

We have had a great time playing Mario Kart with these wheels and have had no problems with them after playing Mario kart almost daily for the last couple months. We bought these 2 wheels in addition to the official nintendo wheel at the same time. After hosting players of various ages (from 7 to 40), there is no clear preference for either wheel. However, the Turbo wheel has a bit larger diameter which gives it an edge over the nintendo wheel in my view.

This wheel is easier for my larger hands to grip than the Nintendo brand wheel. Of note, there is no B button on the wheel itself. Rather, you directly press the B button on the remote (there is a small cutout on the wheel where the B button is supposed to be). I prefer this because the Nintendo wheel sometimes failed to activate the B button when I pressed it. As for the design, I think the Nintendo wheel looks better. However, in my opinion, function beats form in this case. Finally, the two wheel pack has more bang for your buck than buying one wheel alone. I bought the blue and red pack featured here, and also bought the grey and orange wheels to complete the four color set.

However, the mounted Wii-mote looses contact with the sensor when only halfway up the screen. Apparently this wheel is limiting the signal coming from the Wii-mote.

By contrast the Nintendo wheel (which has a bigger opening to let the signal pass through) works just fine.

I have to agree that these have a weak infrared pass through. Once the wiimotes are mounted I have a very hard time making menu selections. When playing Mario Kart using these you will often make a sudden and unexpected left turn and crash out, which is really anoying. Taking the wiimotes out of these wheels gives better performance. The wheel that came with Mario Kart works flawlessly, and so now my kids fight over who gets stuck with one of these.
Spend the extra $5 and get 2 official Wii Wheels...

the price is good on these. the little things that annoy me about these wheels don't really bother my kids. they perform ok. they look pretty cool, and the rubberized grips are cool. these are not 12" in diameter as described. the window on the side of these wheels interferes with the IR control which you need to use for pointing at the screen for controlling the Wii menus. i don't like that it has a hole for the 'B' button as opposed to the integrated button on the Wii wheel.

overall, a good value but you'd be better off with the Wii wheel or finding another brand that behaves more like the Wii wheel.

only thing I can see that I like about the Wii wheel over these is the Wii wheel has a trigger extention built into the wheel. these you have to reach a little farther to hit the bottom trigger other than that they work great. wii mote fits snug and flush. great buy for the price.

I bought these controllers when I purchased the Mario Kart game. They weren't Wii brand, but were much cheaper and seemed just fine. When I purchased them and recieved them, I realized that they came in different colors, which is great because I have a family of five, so we all know which one is our personal one! It fit in the remote just fine, and was comfortable to play with. Might not have been as nice as the Wii brand, but certanly cheaper. You definitly get what you pay for in this sense, but the product worked just fine.

Absolutely love these! Husband and son spend many hours driving on Wii and love the cushy grips and the way the remote plugs in is good, too. Would definitely buys these again!

This product is great for the money. I had to trim the ruff seams inside where the Wii controller goes on one of the Turbo Wheel but no big deal. I like it.
