Found this bit of info on
This will be great for my friends who can't afford or don't want to get a Wii U but still love monsterhunter. It is also great for capcom because they found a way to get me to buy the same game twice, because while I like my handheld, I'd rather play it on the big screen when I'm at home.

Wish you could do local co-op without needing a 3DS for each player. The tablets should suffice for each player's inventories any anything else.
Where have the days of split screen gone?!

Now, I could be wrong, but I'm almost certain that a single WiiU can only support one tablet controller and the rest must be Wiimotes

Dracthor says:
From what I heard the system can support up to two tablets, but no games currently support it so spare tablets are not being sold outside of japan.

Sure, but why not support the Pro Controller and a Tablet? Have the second player use the tablet screen while the pro controller uses the TV? Local two player coop would rock.

The touch screen is going to have some important uses according to Capcom, and it would take out something the game was designed around.
